I played this with the Silly Mod and my brother had no idea what was part of the game and what wasn't. Truly one of the remakes of all time.

Okay but fr though, like Kiwami 1 I played the original PS2 version of Yakuza 2 before this. That game is hard to top and I honestly found myself seriously enjoying this remake, maybe even more the original! Granted, it may have been because of how hilarious the Silly Mod was to play with...

Though there are two main sticking points for quite a few people, that being the story, and the combat. Both are absolutely correct, the story is completely all over the place, with random twists and turns out the wazoo. Also a golden castle appearing out of the ground... full of ninjas... and spike traps... and a minigun cannon... with two tigers at the end. And the matter of combat, being a port of Yakuza 6's combat, which can be uh... frustrating at times, to say the least; things like your hits bouncing and staggering you when hitting targets that are blocking, or how minibosses/bosses can sometimes feel like paper mache with how many moves can just obliterate entire healthbars.

Despite both of these pretty big complaints, but ultimately I'd still argue it's more than worth playing! At the end of the day, it's Yakuza, and you're always guaranteed a good time! 9/10, fantastic game, play it now. (or you're a chump)

After having played the original PS2 version first, this is an outstanding remake of that game!
Vastly improved combat thanks to the amazing depth of Yakuza 0's styles which were brought forward into this game and expanded on in an interesting way, cutscenes and story remade practically shot for shot, and with some new substories and minigames thrown in too.

Overall this was absolutely brilliant and a complete joy to play, easy 10/10 for me

(play with the english dub mod for the ultimate experience :3)

A fantastic entry in the Yakuza series, not quite as good as the OG Yakuza 1 & 2, but still definitely worth playing! (if you can look past the broken-ass enemy blocking)

Really just gets me 200% MOTIVATED.
