Like SM1 before it, this game is special. It's able to encapsulate what made SM1 such an achievement but in an impressively smaller package.

The game starts off strong; Manhattan during Christmas / winter time is a great visual change-up, and the reason for Miles taking care of NYC alone is solid.
The tonal changes from Peter to Miles is done very well; the way he swings shows that he is still very inexperienced yet learning, and the way he moves his body according to his swinging is a very good visual change that keeps the game feeling new. [insert swagger meme here]

Perhaps it's because of the game overall being smaller and Miles being a brand new Spider-Man, but I enjoyed the story more than SM1. Focusing more on Miles adapting to becoming Spider-Man in his own right, and him having to balance the personal and professional matters of both ends was done very well.
Both the Tinkerer and Prowler are handled well; both characters stories being able to stand on their own along with Miles, with everything coming together in a solid yet somewhat cliched fashion. (And that isn't exactly a bad thing.)
I didn't like one specific character being rehashed in what felt like a cheap manner, but compared to other standalone dlc games, this one handled it well enough.

The new gameplay elements like wall and ceiling takedowns along with using Miles' bioelectricity and camouflage was handled well enough to keep the combat and action fresh while similar.

That being said, maybe it's my now 7 year old PC starting to show its age, but in terms of overall PC port performance, I had a rougher time playing this game compared to SM1- primarily swinging around snowy Manhattan. I'll withhold any substantial criticism on this end until I properly upgrade my PC later this year.

Overall a solid package and experience, one that stands on its own being put side-by-side to SM1.
I will also be platinuming this after wrapping up SM1 and 2.

This game is special. I'm disappointed it took me 7 years to play it, but I'm glad I did.
The whole game from beginning to end is a very satisfying experience; it just throws you right into Manhattan as Spider-Man. No introduction, no origin story, nothing. And I really appreciated that.

Swinging is fun, combat is fun, story is good enough for a game dev company, dlc is good enough and leads up to MM and SM2. PC port is stellar as well, had absolutely no issues.
I look forward to platinuming this once I finish SM2.

Game plays well and looks amazing, but currently the PC port is riddled with slowdowns, mainly in the main menu. Wait for a patch before you buy this unless you're willing to overlook it.
