Great game. I have had a hard time getting friends to play it but I think its one of the better extraction shooters.

Decent Game. When comparing it to Dark and Darker I would say each has their advantages. This game is a lot more "Arcade Like" but also has a lot more polish compared to Dark and Darker when it comes to the artistic direction. Combat is definitely more fluid than Dark and Darker, hence the arcade like feel. However with that it loses some of the things that makes Dark and Darker also great. To put it short this is like comparing Fortnite to PUBG.

Ok so let me explain the game so far and put into perspective some of the negativity. The game isnt that bad, its actually entertaining. That being said; it was sort of billed as this "Left 4 Dead" style game which it is sorely not. This game is basically more like Dead Island than Left for Dead. The single player is the main focus and the multiplayer is basically rendered to an after thought in some aspects because they do nothing to encourage it. This is very sad considering the trailers and demo game play make it look like the next big coop multiplayer game like Left 4 Dead. Additionally the AI is ridiculously dumb for a AAA game. I mean stupid dumb... I cant believe they let it pass like this. The AI basically is super predictable, runs at you just to be shot. The vampire AI is slightly better but I almost feel like they dumbed down the humans so much to make the Vampires seem more challenging. The Vampires are basically the same situation but a bit more tanky. They run at you, jump at you, and warp around you. They are very easy to predict. Overall I would recommend buying this game on a steam sale.

Short addition to FC5. I do not recommend paying full price as this is definitely not worth $40 IMO. However the story is decent, though it is rushed. Like 23 story missions total I believe. They did a great job with furthering the story of Joseph Seed. It wasnt too chatty like FC5 and had a lot more substance to him even though you dont see much of him.

Rust Log August 2022:

Spawned on a beach with a rock, torch and no clothes. So someone who looked friendly... Said Hi and was shot. As I was down they called me the N-Word and bashed my head in with a rock.

Spawned again. This time I ran into a forest. Was instantly shot from some guy on a roof in the distance. Crawled for a bit before being eaten by a wolf.

Spawned yet another time. This time I managed to build an stone hatchet and pick axe. Used them to farm some materials and built a small shed out of wood only to be surrounded by the locals. I survived their first attack and hid in my shed. Started hearing bottles breaking and fire around my shed... Got roasted like a marshmellow. All my stuff taken or destroyed.

Spawned for the fourth time. Built my base again and this time upgraded it to stone. Took most of the day but finished it. Logging off.

Woke up today and started rust. After logging in my stuff is gone. There is a different door on my base. I appear to be trapped. Nothing left to do but suicide. Started a new base. Started talking **** in chat afterwards. Got a positive response... I think the locals may be accepting me.

Started today by talking ****. Learned of something called a trap base on youtube. Decided I am going to try to build one.

Finished my trap base...First victim decided to scout it out. When he jumped in he landed on my cactus. I shot and killed him... Took his stuff and called him the N-Word. Things are improving...

Been a couple days since my trap base design... Havent showed up for work. My boss called. I told him to get rekt. I now have more time to play Rust. Trap base has been coming along. I dont even bother to use any of the other mechanics in the game. I just run around and kill people for items. I had someone invite me into their team and discord.

Been playing for a few more days with this team. Now we have moved to our 3rd server. Got a whole new meta to the game. Now we login, create bases, and "roof camp farmbots", as the locals call it, for supplies. If things dont go our way we move on to the next server like locusts.

This will be my last post for a while as my power is getting shut off. I will be moving back in with my parents. I have begun to **** in a bag so that I can use it in a composter. I am hoping to start to create manuer to sell for scrap. I figured I could use the materials to build my own place. My parents are looking at me funny while I was over. When the amazon guy knocked on the door I told them we needed to place more barricades because the next time we could be raided when I move in. They arent listening to me. They said they wanted me to "see someone." I told them that I would as soon as I am done making my satchel charges. I have been watching their neighbor eyeing my future house. I am going to offline him when he goes in to work. Will post details later...

This game is very well designed. Fantastic story, great music, above average mechanics. It is basically like a modern day zombie version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Maybe not as in depth but still a great swing at it. I would say that you could easily say its Rockstar quality.

The story is pretty long and it has a lot of side missions. The side missions dont feel too repetitive and so far I havent seen any dumb ones like racing or anything yet. I would say I am getting close to the end and I have played for about 40 hours. I have been pretty completion oriented too. There are some emergent gameplay aspects to the game too. Random event will pop up with a question mark and something will happen such as a NPC getting robbed or killed by a band of marauders.

Overall the combat is good and the controls are done well. I have a couple little mission glitches(about 7-8) during my entire play experience but they were easily fixed by restarting a checkpoint. Most of the glitches took place at an actual checkpoint too so I didnt lose much when I restarted it.

Another aspect of this game is the story. It is absolutely amazing and told very well throughout the game. DONT SKIP THE DIALOGS OR SCENES! If you do that you are doing yourself a huge disservice because this game lets the mood and music emphasize the story. If you run through things too fast you will not get the emotional impact that the story is trying to convey.

To sum it up I feel like this is going to be one of those games that I will absolutely love and be very sad when I finish it because it wont be the same replaying the game. Mainly because the story will already be known to me. Sort of like watching a movie for the second or third time.

Very fun, occasional dip$%#!s who grief, but nonetheless lots of fun. Had a lot more good games than bad!

This game is amazing. Yes it has its bugs here and there but as long as you update all your drivers, the bugs that remain are pretty mild. A simple load your last save or restart the game will fix the bug.

This game pretty much has it all. Story is down right top notch. Dont expect happy endings. It follows in that cyberpunk/noir genre.

Combat is OK but not as unique as I think it could be done.
Hacking I think could be done much better.
I would of loved to see a "diving" mode as well for deep net dives.

Cool dividing story
Really neat vehicle purchase system. Wish they applied it to other aspects of the game. What I mean by neat is that there is a large selection of vehicles and you can purchase them from different people on the map. Would be cool if there were a black market economy for cybermods, weapons,etc.

Bad:
Would love to see narration on lore, etc. You pick up so much of it that it becomes a chore to read.
More cybernetics. For being a cyberpunk game the cybermod quantity is pretty weak.
I feel like the romances are a bit one sided.
Some bugs that still need to be worked out.
Would love the story to branch a bit more even though it does a great job on this... however it all happens towards the end so it doesnt feel like the choice is super long term.
So many bad things happen to people in this game... not a lot of uplifting things. This is more to do with the genre of the game however there are times when I almost feel "pulled down" by the game. Maybe that should attest to the immersion.

Great indie game. Like a combination of dying light, the forest, and mirrors edge. Took me about 1.5 days to beat.
