I Hit One Guard and They All Died. 11/10.

I booted up Oblivion Remastered expecting nostalgia. Instead, I accidentally became a cosmic force, shattered Tamriel’s concept of time, and committed several acts of accidental divinity before lunch.

First things first: Yes, it looks gorgeous. The graphics? Stunning. NPC faces? Finally freed from the uncanny valley, which is great, because now I don’t feel like I’m negotiating trade deals with wax sculptures possessed by ancient spirits.

But the gameplay? Oh. Ohhh. It’s still that same wonderful Oblivion nonsense. I got arrested within seven minutes for “accidentally” launching an entire bread display across the shop with my telekinetic spell, and suddenly, every guard in Cyrodiil knew my name like I was some kind of medieval influencer/

The spells? Oh, dear Akatosh, the spells. I started with a simple, modest spell to boost my Personality, Mercantile, and Charm. Cast it once, and suddenly every merchant in Cyrodiil was begging to donate their inventory to my cause. I didn’t even have to ask. They just knew...

But then came the potion... I brewed something special... Something forbidden... Something so powerful that even the game engine hesitated...

A potion with Fortify Speed cranked so high that it transcended numerical values. The moment I drank it, the game didn’t register movement—it registered a disappearance. I sprinted forward, and Tamriel could no longer contain me. I went from Chorrol to Leyawiin in 0.5 seconds, skipping multiple loading screens and briefly phasing into the distant, unknowable void where Bethesda stores unfinished quest lines.

Then... in my hubris, I tried casting spells while running...

That was the turning point. My Lightning Staff of Regret™—a weapon so catastrophically overpowered that every NPC in its radius died before the spell animation even finished—somehow interacted with my potion speed. I fired a bolt, blinked, and watched as the game struggled to process the sheer velocity of destruction.

The lightning outran itself...

I hit one guard and every guard in the province simultaneously collapsed, as if my spell was both instant and omnipresent. Their death messages appeared before the projectile even left my staff. Physics? Irrelevant. Causality? Optional. Tamriel’s electrical grid? Permanently unstable.

Meanwhile, horses remained completely unwilling participants in my experiments. I tried riding one post-potion. Instant teleportation error. The game couldn’t decide where I belonged, so it settled on “everywhere and nowhere simultaneously.” The horse vibrated violently, attempting to grapple with the metaphysical consequences of my choices, before promptly phasing into oblivion itself.

So in summary: ✅ Game looks stunning. ✅ Still 100% breakable, and honestly more terrifying than ever. ✅ My potion choices have personally shattered Tamriel’s space-time continuum. ✅ My spell casting is now a localised apocalypse. ✅ Horses remain unwilling, yet deeply affected.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

I die so much and that makes me want to come back and keep playing so I can kill the boss that killed me. Then you find a giant flying chicken bird that gives you a crap ton of runes and become almighty powerful and lay ruin to the gods and bask in eternal overpowered glory.

This Game is going to be Game of The Year 2022.

Update: This Game Was Game of the Year 2022.

This game is fun and challenging! The gameplay is great as well as the art style and the music is amazing as well as the musics rhythm is designed to the levels. The only thing this game makes me want to smash my head against my keyboard and rip my eyes out. 11/10
