This game is pretty great, even for someone like me that didn't pay particular attention to HP franchise as a whole. It's a joy to explore what seems and at least felt like to me, a lovingly created rendition of Hogwarts and the world around it. Characters are well voice acted, soundscape on the whole is a traditional and well executed affair.

Puzzles range from the better than mundane, to the genuinely headscratching and there's plenty of them to find dotted around the world. Combat is surprisingly versatile and has a lot of hidden little tricks and combos that feel really satisfying to pull off properly especially in the more intense fight scenarios. It held up well throughout my experience.

Negatives would be the save system is kind of clunky and the game itself sometimes didn't shut off in between sessions unbeknownst to me until I was ready to game once more. Unsure what caused it, but seeing as there was no save corruption i'm assuming it's a case of the DRM being overly aggressive. Needless to say not big marks against an otherwise beautifully executed experience.

Stealth definitely seems to have been an idea they had a robust system for then subsequently abandoned. Perhaps because it became too intrusive to exploring? Still, a bit of a headscratcher.

Last but not least, unlike the franchise's the creator the game is very welcoming to all so I don't think a certain mold enjoyer should detract from the experience the devs clearly worked hard on.

Great old school sidescroller in the same vein as Shinobi, and just as tricky to boot. If you like a real challenge give it a whirl.

Should've reviewed this one years ago, but alas I was probably having too much fun to bother. Great game, plots solid enough to keep things moving and without aggravating anything. The zombies and their variants are all dangerous yet squishy enough to dismember satisfyingly.

The parkour is, great for the sandbox it's in but Crane does have a habit of doing some buggy/janky interactions and they'll crop up fairly frequently on any playthrough. It's both a fault of collision detection and player execution and sadly it's not always obvious which of the two it was. Regardless, there's a lot of fun to be had with it and it will only occasionally frustrate.

The meat and gravy of the combat comes alive with the perk system which allows you some much needed creativity when engaging with the various hostile denizens of Harran and that flows beautifully.

Graphically it still holds up very well, and whilst it may not blow your mind it's still very pleasing to look at and the general aesthetics are well thought out with beautiful vistas and daylight system that keeps you necessarily engaged.

I'd say the game is a great overall package and as is usually the norm, fares even better when played with friends. Enjoy.

Great story, meaningful consequences, good voice acting. Excellent visual style, the animations are a little staid and janky by today's standards but it still holds up. Music is serviceable but nothing standout.

Once I'd figured out the game wasn't supposed to feel like it was on ice and fiddled with my graphics settings to stop the weird input lag I was having, the game was immensely enjoyable. Short and sweet.

Oozes with style, genuinely decent rpg mechanics, a well told story that actually managed to keep me engaged making me cringe in a few places. Beautiful soundtrack, it genuinely feels like you're playing something special and everything is delivered triumphantly. Genuinely hard not to like it if you enjoy jrpgs.

Performance is good for me, but this should be your first warning, it isn't for everybody and it has steep requirements.

Monster and world design so far is exceptional, story is surprisingly engaging, character creator is fantastic, weapon switching and weapon skills are genuine improvement. World feels REALLY alive and slick, lots of environmental effects and utilities make it feel more like a world than maps, at least so far. Genuinely loving the new monsters i've encountered so far too.

Strange game this like, 3rd person XCOM, real time reaction fire from your own troops and enemies gives a more immersive feel. Tactics are varied but sadly the game seem to awards you more for bumrushing than taking a more clinical approach. Still you can play it however you feel and story is compelling enough to keep it moving, and being moving in places too.

All of this underscored with a beautiful soundtrack and aesthetic it's worth giving a try. I strongly recommend bashing your head against a wall first time through and finding ways to a rank and seeing what secrets (Enemy Aces and hidden recruits) you can uncover then using what you learned to smash it on new game plus.

Only real problems I can think of are a few missions where ambushes are lobbed on you via trigger points you had no way of knowing existed. Some of the mechanics in a couple missions are poorly/timed obscurely too. But this only happens a couple of times throughout and you can generally save yourself from any of these situations.

Weird game, obtuse plot that sniffs its own butt quite a lot. Oddly fun though, especially with friends. This is the most lukewarm of my recommends, because I'm acutely aware some people will hate it, but if you like janky shooters with jankier plots but lofty ideas. You'll have a good time with it.

This game, in all it's glory is testament to Clover Studio's majesty. It's a beautiful new take on the adventure game format and the story is told in a quirky but still immersive manner. Just buy it and enjoy, you'll get no spoilers from me.
