Are you sure it's the file UTEngine? because I can't find it.
I applied these settings to a file called GCEngine.ini in the config folder that is located in Documents>My Games>Homefront>GCgame>Config

and my fps is still capped at 90.
I believe the fps smoothing only applies to the fps cap that is defaulted at 62.

Maybe it's possible that a console command could uncap it? I tried finding console commands for this game but I couldn't find any.

find the file UTEngine
open and find the line with bSmoothframerate=TRUE
change it to bSmoothframerate=FALSE

or look for: MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62 in the file and change the number to whatever you want the max framerate to be

I searched the gconfig files, all I found was the FrameSmoothing's values which was the 62 cap.
but I still dont know what causes the 90 cap.

Yeah... the fix is in the game gcconfig files... I forgot how and never cared when I reinstalled and was capped at 90... too busy playing Google the same issue with UT3

Hi, I see you are a very experienced Homefront player, I have an issue with the game where the fps is capped at 90, do you know how to fix it?
I disabled fps smoothing, and all it did was get the cap from 62 fps to 90.
