Sledgehammer was given far less time than usual to develop a full title AND had to build it on top of the turd that was MWII, but somehow made the best COD since BO3, which came out 8 years before it. All of the launch maps being remakes of MW2 (2009)'s maps had a significant amount to do with that initially, but also Sledgehammer actually listening to the community, being fairly open about bugs and issues, weapon balancing changes generally being good, releasing a lot of new maps post-launch, etc. is really nice.

Note: I exclusively play the core MP and extremely don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about singleplayer or Warzone

tekken is extremely cool but i am way too smallbrained to play it to my satisfaction

it's probably fine, but being unable to combo into instant kills is a fatal omission. 0/10
