Jigsaw puzzles. Lots of them. Some hard, some less so, but can be relaxing ... a bit ... most of the time :)

For a F2P title, this is quite ok. Sure there are incentives to buy stuff, but - at least most of the time :p - the mechs you can buy for ingame currency aren't any worse than anything you can only buy for real money. And the mechs only available for real money get added into the store for ingame currency about 6 months after release (maybe without the pretty skins, but they are there).

Should you invest real money in this? No. :D
But it keeps the servers running, and in the last year, PGI has seriously begun adding content again, so there's still hope for more improvements.

Very cute game with some fun puzzles and a lot of connections to the Girl Genius universe. You can even read the comics in the game (if you find the, uh, shop for them).

+ Great implementation of an episode in the Girl Genius universe. Sure, not everything happened as depicted in the game, but it's close enough.
+ Exploring the castle, avoiding the traps, solving puzzles, smacking stuff with a big wrench, building and upgrading some tech pieces.

- You have a little helper that can kind of fly later on. It only gains height from air vents, but it is hard to see if you're clearly above them, and its altitude is changing up and down during which. Combine that with some puzzles where you're sometimes missing the next vent by less than 5cm, gets you quite frustrated to try this again and again.
(+ There are automatic saves during the puzzles, so you'll be not that far for the next try.)
- For the little helper, there are also special switches only it can manipulate. A good part are quite ok, but there are several that require quite an exact path to avoid getting damages. And if you take too much damage, you have to restart the whole switch puzzle.
- The boss fights are quite stupid. The first one requires you to evade its attacks in a very narrow room so it damages itself. The hitbox of the attacks seems to be larger than shown, so you'll get damaged although you evaded the attack. And the 2nd boss throws so much damage around in the tiny room, it gets hard to avoid his attacks. And the debris. And the exploding adds.

Early Access Review
Very nice mix of sims and a little bit of civilisation I'd say. Very well done so far.
You can assign tasks to your villagers, build roads and buildings, and with the right tech and buildings, send expeditions to gather stuff and - maybe - meet more people for your village. There's a nice little tech tree to expand your building and menu selection. Changing climates so you have to adjust your farms and food production.
EDIT: And another biome is in development, awesome! Still loving the graphics.

Played a bit of the campaign, fun enough. Nice mods you can enhance and your buddy pet with.
Why the "not recommended" then?
Tried one of the B missions, and utterly failed it because someone thought it would be fun to have unlimited enemy respawn in these - unlike the campaign missions, these don't have this stupid BS. This respawn is even worse than in Borderlands.

This is a bit of a hidden gem.
The story of how everything works in this is almost believable, really good storytelling. Lots of interactible objects to further explore the story and how it all evolved. You even can select how certain key moments develop and the story adapts to your selections.
It is paired with a nice third person shooter with some decent enemy AI utilising cover and grenades.

+Good graphics for a game from 2013.
+Nice storytelling
+good sounds
+if you look closely, you can avoid the traps

-whatever the controls are supposed to be to avoid damage from traps, it doesn't work
-single save point, so wild button mashing in combat can lead to lost progress, because there is NO CONFIRMATION when hopping back in the time line
-seriously, who approves "no confirmation necessary to jump back in time"?
-controls are ok, but a bit laggy, making it quite hard to avoid some attacks
-buggy encounters (an opponent failed to jump down into an arena, so I couldn't fight him to progress)

Overall, I can see why this was considered a failure. It is a nice game with a somewhat solid core, but the finishing is lacking.

The free version is so reduced that it isn't worth to even try it. You can only play with 2 other players, not even 3 to have a nice game of 4 players! Stay away from this.

Puzzle game with a lot of running around and jumping, using a copy of yourself to solve puzzles. The graphics are ok, the soundtrack fits the theme of the game very well.

Awesome demonstration of the mechanics. Graphics are ok for a puzzle game, music is nice and calm and doesn't distract. It'll be interesting to see the later parts of the game.
