Early Access Review
Game is in a quite advanced state, with both an underworld and 'land' track.

They're still iterating heavily on the weapons, which is needed, as combat does feel slower than Hades 1. Fewer duo boons available yet to significantly change style of play. No doubt they'll get there, but the game is already quite fun to play.

Find it quite boring, and the story is unconvincing.
Why yes, random stranger, please take my space ship and our boss will follow you around.

Getting too old to 'just hold on for 12 hours until it gets a little bit fun', you would expect better from a seasoned publisher and developer.

Play BG3 instead.

An enormous achievement. Story-rich, great characters, filled with details, tons of additional options.

First FromSoftware game I've played, having avoided DarkSouls for its reputation of grind/repeat and fail - I've been missing out. Was more accessible for a newcomer than I anticipated, although you do unfortunately have to look up answers elsewhere as in-game lore or quest progress is hidden too well.

Well-designed world, and you have to remain focused on combat even for common mobs. Greatly recommended you try out, especially if you were on the DarkSouls fence before.

Plays well on Steam Deck.

Didn't click for me. Combat starts off very slow before you can level up some skills, but wasn't my thing afterwards either. Perhaps spoiled, having just finished Elden Ring with its precision and timing being important vs relative button mashing.

What put me off the most from GoW however is just how boring the maps are. It's like navigating through a goose game board, with some simple puzzles to hit some ranged objects sprinkled in-between. It just felt like a fan-made mod and had to turn it off when I dreaded getting into the next 'realm'.

Another fantastic immersive fps from Arkane, Deathloop is a lot of fun. More than just a gimmick, the looping day (without savegames) encourages an exciting risk/reward balance and invites you to mix all-guns-blazing style with stealth.
The powers and guns are a lot of fun. Recommended

Nice short investigation game. The story builds up through the stories the characters bring and some decisions you can make (by choosing to identify a plant with a different effect), which reminds me quite a bit of Papers Please.

Take the most bland side quests, writing and locations you can think of, blend em up, and this is what you get. This is what ChatGPT might create if you'd ask it to create a copy of Fallout without a soul.

Don't bother.

A shame of the initial launch drama, can say with patch 1.6 Cyberpunk was a great experience on Steam Deck. Awesome setting and music and a lot of fun to play through in Night City.

Occasional bug here and there, especially at the start, but nothing too drastic.
Runs great on steam deck, crawls on my old GTX 970.

Well that was quite something. This game is best enjoyed without knowing too much about it beforehand. If you enjoy card games, and are interested in a 'pony island version' of one, get Inscryption.

Have to say my impressions subsided somewhat towards the end, but it was still very enjoyable ride.
