ᓚᘏᗢ By Kay, this cat loves this game, even with its side-quests which are mostly go-fetch/bring-back (only dogs enjoy this kind of task, pfff). The main adventure, on the contrary, is full of surprises and originality, while remaining faithful to the Lovecraft source. But I hate this game for its combat phases. Now, don't misunderstand this cat, I don't mind a good fight, I enjoy it even, but here it's like being sent against a pack of rats with your paws sunk into wet socks. Un-blinking-fun!
Good news, though: some guy came up with a MOD, very easy to apply, to eliminate all the combat awkwardness which ruins the game: https://test-steamproxy.haloskins.io/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2613390670 Thanks to that, you can enjoy The Sinking City as the marvellous and mesmerizing nightmare it's supposed to be.

ᓚᘏᗢ Menace from the Deep is to Slay the Spire what the locomotive is to the steam engine.

An imaginative game for imaginative gamers. There is much delight in the exploration and discovery of the world. The writing and the story are top notch. And the landscape, the unique giant colored pixels art, absorbs you like a fall in a dream. Combat? It's serviceable but works pretty well. Magic system is simple to use and quite efficient.
ᓚᘏᗢ The game has a mesmerizing quality. It... strangely... feels like home; a distant, forgotten home from another world.

Deepest Chamber is a card battler that you'll enjoy if you give it a chance. It has different mechanics that require you to reprogram your brain in the Slay-the-Spire trained area.
The cards you play from your hand boost the other cards on either side of it, and each card (can) have multiple boost levels. It's a bit confusing at first, which is why the game takes a couple hours to get you hooked. But once you get used to this boosting system, it becomes very enjoyable, with a special flavor in a genre where most of the games taste the same.

When the time comes, at the end of the year, to give games awards on STEAM, Caves of Lore will be the first I'll vote for. The dev has my thanks, not only for having crafted a real good old RPG on par with the classics, but also for all the work and pain he must have taken to iron details, and implement mechanics that works perfectly every way. Everything is good in this one, even the writing, even the story, and the rich pixel graphics too!
ᓚᘏᗢ I'm particularly fond of "small-dev-team indie games", playing many of them, especially with turn-based combat and RPG context; in all regards Caves of Lore tops with the best!
