good game

its difficult, its about climbing, and its a game. what isnt there to love?

One of the best metroidvanias i have played. it has 10/10 visuals, 10/10 audio, 11/10 jokes, and 10/10 gameplay. youre missing out if you dont play this

This is a fantastic game. Bought it on my 3ds for $15 back when it was just shovel knight, then again on my switch for $25 when specter of torment released, and now I have it on PC when king of cards released. I have well over 100 hours between the 3 platforms, and I always find myself coming back to play more. you get great value with 4 distinct campaigns here. even plague of shadows, which is the most similar to shovel of hope, feels completely distinct from the rest.

This is a really fun metroidvania with a lot of charm. The visuals and audio are incredible, but the real star here is the gameplay. There is plenty to do, and it is very well paced so you wont get bored. Most metroidvanias I have played dont have great combat, but here it feels very fluid, and many of the combat abilities can also be used for movement, leading to a very cohesive experience. 10/10 fantastic game

stellar game, currently playing through it on pc after having 100%ed it on switch years ago with 100+ hours put into it. it teaches you everything you need to know early on, and after that progression feels extremely natural. everything feels great to control, and when you die you know that it is your fault. that being said, you will die a lot on your first run, but it you will slowly learn to master the knight. I haven't even touched the game in a year+ and although I am nearing completion, i have only died once because the game is like second nature now. if youre willing to get back up after each death and trek on, i truly believe that this is the best game of its kind. i consider myself a seasoned veteran of the metroidvania genre, and i still have not found one that feels this incredible in terms of music, atmosphere, gameplay, story, or really anything else. 53/10 highly reccomend!

This is a fighting game that masquerades as a simple modernized pong. Because of that, it is easy to pick up and learn, but has a surprising amount of depth if you want to improve. It is all good fun whether casually or competetively played. My ONLY gripe with the game is how there is no proper training, but its not to difficult to learn from playing online against others coupled with the in game "guide".

Really fun, looks and sounds great, extremely entertaining (some of the most funny writing in a game I've played)

Its pretty stupid fun, but man is it fun. It is very different from other fighting games in that you can only move, dodge, jump, and nair. There is still surprising depth to be had such as wavedashing, but don't expect this to be super difficult to grasp well.

got it for free on twitch a while back and it was so good i just had to buy it on steam. if youre on this page you probably already got spoiled on the game from the trailer, but if not i highly reccomend just going in blind.
