The music is so good, one of the top OSTs in video game history for me (along Diablo 2 and Skyrim)

Early Access Review
After the last update, I have to review my review. The game is much more solid now. Less bugs, more quality of life. I have not tried multiplayer though. To me, Last Epoch is the solid middle ground between PoE and D3 in terms of complexity. While D3 is a joke, PoE is just impossible to get into as a new player. Good job on this! The way you specialize your skills and build up synergies is just stunning. I can't wait to get to endgame content to see how it plays out.

Gave it a first shot, have to admit that it seems to be worth the wait (funded via Humble):

Pros:
- Neat pixel graphics. I really like them because most indie games have a great gameplay (in contrast to uber graphics AAA titles)
- Hack&Slay-ish dungeon crawler. Controls remind me a bit of "Crawl". The upgrade mechanics of "Hero Siege".
- Individual main skill upgrades for each character found as "runes". Only one at a time so choose wisely.
- Other upgrades and shrines, kind of like in Diablo.
- Controls overall pretty smooth. Really makes fun to play and still is challenging (dodge, timing of attacks).
- Randomly generated dungeons.
- Recipe rewards for crafting items.

Neutral:
- Balancing and/or difficulty seems to vary a lot. Made 8 levels in one run with one character where I died 5 times and reached level 5 with another one.

Cons:
- Music is not as good as I have experienced on other indie titles. It still fits the setting though.
- Music also sometimes has "breaks" when changing regions and/or leaving special places. Needs smoother transitions.
- These breaks sometime also made the visual stutter once in the intro.

For the breaks I am sure that the developers will smoothen out the game experience as this is an early version. I cannot wait for this game to grow and get more awesome with time.
Overall compares a bit to Hero Siege but is more a Hack and Slay-ish game instead of Bullet Hell.

Most of the time I enjoy these small RPGs which remind me of the good old Final Fantasy parts. This one was awful.

- Repetitive combats (grinding)
- Repetitive music (annoying as hell)
- An pacifistic protagonist who is against killing (but does not complain about grinding)
- Main character beta as ♥♥♥♥ throughout the time
- WTF plot (god, angels, every creature has a gem in it's chest, robots, mechs)

No thanks, there are even enough (free) Flash-based browser games which are more fun.
