My first monster hunter game, very cool very fun. But the "multiplayer" is the most convoluted garbage I have ever seen. The "open world" is really just several biomes with loading screens between them. These loading screens by the way require you to make a new "environment link" every time if you want seamless multiplayer with some friends... Finally, after beating the main story I suddenly started crashing ALL the time. I will be mid-fight, my screen freezes, and the overzealous crash reported will close the game instead of allowing it to recover. I spent maybe 3 hours of my playtime TRYING TO PLAY. If you can, wait to buy this once capcom actually cares about performance...

Its been a long time. The game was trashed due to a lot of bad press and at release it deserved it. However Hello Games has done the right thing since and has greatly improved the game with features we did not even know we wanted to support their original great idea of a procedurally generated universe. At this point in time they are deserving of a second chance and it has so far not disappointed.

If you like games like factorio and satisfactory, but they seem too intense for you, then this is a great game to get into that genre.

Steep learning curve, would recommend finding a guide for your first character. Once you know it, its great.
