This is a fantastic visual novel and a great addition to The House in Fata Morgana.

Before you play this one, you should play and complete the above main story. Not only for spoiler reasons, but also because the two VNs complete each other, and you miss out on a lot of details and context otherwise.

A Requiem for Innocence keeps up the quality of the main story. It's gripping and heartrending, but it's also got plenty of humor. It's very much consistent and fills in the unseen parts of the main story almost flawlessly, the author put great effort into making sure the details match up (as per a commentary). The soundtrack is fantastic with its variety of songs. The cast features some returning characters, some new. They are all developed and well written.

There are additional side stories that expand on other parts of The House in Fata Morgana. These are much shorter, but rewarding to play through. Lastly, this VN also comes with a "Backstage" segment just like the main story, which is a humorous commentary provided by the characters.

To summarize, if you've played The House in Fata Morgana (and if you haven't, you should, it's an incredible experience), this is a quality expansion on its story. Whether you want to see more of the characters or just want additional answers, you won't be disappointed.
