List of Things That, In My Opinion, Killed The Game I Once Loved:
The Community
Back in the day I met some good people on this game. People I still talk to to this very day, long after we stopped playing.
These days I can confidently say that the people who play this are not human, But angsty teenage goblins who consider team killing to be the funniest joke ever. This eliminates any hope for a decent solo queue experience. Only play with AT LEAST a duo.
The Aesthetic
...Is lost in time. Nothing to be said that isn't already known. This game used to be the tacticool wonder that Ubisoft brought back from the dead. One albino astronaut chick later and this game is more fantasy than anything.
The Grind
Unless you're buying the season passes, grinding 50,000 credits for a new operator, each operator is not fun. Not fun at all. I've calculated about 40-50 hours per unlock, some are more optimistic with a <35 hours estimate, others claim >75 hours estimate. Either way, this system is obviously designed to make you buy season passes.
Cosmetics
Cosmetics are fun, but the game's focus on them is to an extent I've never seen before in any game. The battle passes, the packs, the everything really. This is how they get money I get it but holy motherf***ing sh*t. For the love of God, lay off with the consoomerism. Why does every game needs to be the equivalent of a funko pop collection.

When the Koreans (KRAFTON) bought this game back from The Chinese (Tencent ♥♥♥ Valorante  近平 June 5, 1989), I had my doubts. I just couldn't believe they could save the dumpster fire it has become.

Some back story: despite the meteoric rise of the Battle Royal era at first, and all the big streamers streaming PUBG, the game gradually died out due to lack of attention by then new owners, Tencent. With game-ruining bugs and servers filled to the brim with bots, the fate of the game seemed to be sealed.

All changed when the original developers, KRAFTON, bought the rights back to the game. The old developers clearly care a lot about their baby, and it shows by the amount of love and attention they give to it.
You can expect:
  • Constant bug fixes
  • Constant addition of new content such as new weapons, gear, maps, mods and more.
  • Fortnite-level of collabs (relatively, consider this to be their eastern counterparts), such as BLACKPINK and NieR:Automata.

Granted, PUBG mobile does get a lot more weapons, content and collabs added to it than the PC version (They literally got an Among Us collab lmao), but the trend is clear:

The F2P transition brought the game back to life, and the developers seem vigor to make it stay like that for as much as possible.

If you are looking for a challenging Battle Royal shooter with a high skill floor and an even higher skill ceiling, definitely give PUBG ago. Steep learning curve but tons of fun with a friend or on your own.

The Rust experience can prove to be a steep and frustrating learning curve. So much so, that in the heat of the moment it is very easy to forget what is real and what is just a game, and thus letting your emotions get the better of you. Therefore, I have made a short compilation of events that happened to me, and I'm sure to most experienced Rust players.

Dying with your best gear on you - This could be frustrating, but a necessary moment to overcome what is known as "gear-fear". Let go of your anxiety, you will make up for the lost weapons and gear soon enough :)

Spending approximately hundred of hours per WEEK on this addicting game like a degenerate, instead on focusing on your studies, career, family or friends. - That... that one is actually real.

Being LITERALLY BETRAYED by your BEST. FRIENDS. as they kill you in your sleep and change all the codes to the codelocks because apparently "you care too much about loot". And when you tell them that you don't and it's not your fault they lost SEVEN gear-sets to the SAME PEOPLE, they tell you that "you literally sleep with your headset on" and that "you can stay in the discord but you'll have to build your own base". - That one is VERY real.
