Nostalgia overload. This is the type of remake I appreciate. It's the original game, only tweaked. Better graphics, mouse support, automap (Journal) and so on. At the same time, it's still the brutal hard game it was. I even managed to forget the crystal sword again.

For those that knew the game already, it should be an easy buy to go back down misery lane.

For those haven't played it before, you need to understand this is an old game. Even finding the start of the game is somewhat tricky (ask to buy wine). It's not Bauldur's Gate; Bard's Tale is from a time before that. Look at the pictures. See how your granddad used to play video games. Get lost in the maze of darkness. Accidentally drop needed items. Cast the wrong spell and get teleported back home without any money. So much frustration and all in turn base, which means you've only got yourself to blame.

It's great.

I like Legendary and had heard this was another deckbuilder that was similar. When I saw it in a Humble Bundle I decided to try it out. I'm glad it was cheap.

The game play is, IMO, horrible. The mechanics often see cards drawn and played instantly from the Villian, meaning it's difficult to make useful strategies unless you are very familiar with all the cards. There isn't a "summoning sickness" to borrow a MTG term. Further, whilst the graphic / comic book feel is nice - it can also be very text heavy and "a lot of stuff on the screen".

It may be worth getting the base game by itself to see if you like it, but don't start buying DLC unless you know it's your thing.

I finished this game quite a while ago and I just saw it in my Steam Library as I was sorting through it. It was, interesting. Point and click light puzzle game.

Incredibly short. I finished it under one hour. It was an interesting concept though. So if you can get it on sale it might be worth the price of admission.

I'd love to give this a thumbs up. It's a great story and it's a "noir-ish" game that feels like a TellTale game. Imagine Max Payne + Tell Tale.

But the fact is, the game episodes are just coming out too slowly and the updates from the company are too far between. As it stands, it's 40% of a game. Yes, it's episodic, but that means you can't "finish the game" until all the episodes are released.

If they finished the game, GREAT, consider this a thumbs up. But right now, don't get suckered into this 2/5 of a game.

Early Access Review
This game is incredibly alpha. So you need to know that going in. There's a lot of bugs and errors. I don't think it's worth the full price at this stage, but I managed to grab it in a bundle and it was great. If you can get it at 50% of it's probably worth your time.

So what are you getting besides bugs?

Think "Skyrim" cross "7 Days to Die". No magic though, just swords and shields, armor and spears. Lots of crafting, lots of survival.

This game, if it can be polished, will be quite a lot of fun. It shows some great promise. As it is, you can get quite a few hours of enjoyment just wandering around and surviving.

I own all or most of the Lego games, finished a fair few of them. I figured the Lego Movie game would be right at the top of the quality list but so far (after a few hours play) it's been rather - meh. I wish I could give it a neutral rating but since that's impossible, I'm going to give it a not recommended.

The main reason to play the Lego games is the fun of the grind, because you will grind a lot. So you have enjoyable humour and fast action within that grind. This game fails then in two ways.

1) The comedy is weak. It's not bad, but it's just rare and repeated.
2) The unskipable cutscenes on free play.

Compare this to say the great Lego Batman or Marvel franchises or LOTR, all of which really got the humour and grind right. Play any of those instead.

Oh man, I love you Telltale, I really do, but this is a mess.

Let's start with the objective faults. There are game problems. These include minor issues, such as choosing the resolution sets the resolution at the same time, so if you're at say 640x480, and you want to get to 1920x1080, your monitor is going to pass through about 15 resolutions before you get there. This is annoying and there is no need for it, and should really be patched out.

Space, for some crazy reason, functions like the escape key in most games. The game is poorly optimised so if you happen to press it, expect a good 5 seconds until you're back in the game.

Many a time for whatever reason the mouse icon was lost off the screen. Sometimes the only way to fix it was to quit the game entirely.

The plot and storyline is, passable, but not as brilliant as say, the remarkable Wolf Among Us or Walking Dead series.

But the quick time events. Oh man. The QTEs are where the fault in this game is 100%. Even with all the other problems, they pale into insignificance to the problem of the QTEs.

The QTEs have compound buttons on many occasions, such as Left then Down. However, the timing is instant, so if you don't hit it straight away, you fail. The game does not give you enough time to actually see the QTE before failing the QTE, and a single fail means you lose "Gold" rating. Further, these all occour in the high action story points of the game.

So what should be the action highlights of the game, the fun sequences, just leave you frustrated and angered as you see fail after fail and reload trying for that Gold and perfect QTE sequence. You'll start to repeat the mantra. Right down right right up up down right as you memorise a level's QTEs for the gold. Finish it and then move onto the next level to start again. Left up left down right up right......

Poorly executed game with some of the worst QTEs that I've ever seen in gaming. Only for dedicated Jurassic Park fans. Skip this, and go get The Wolf Among Us if you haven't.

Not played it? Buy it. Install it.

This is one of those games that makes gaming, as an experience, great. A lot can be written about this but really shouldn't. What I can say is it's not Call of Duty. This isn't Duke Nukem. It's the anti-duke. This is the game that makes war war. It makes the whole thing feel like a great big "WTF are we doing". It's been said that Spec Ops The Line can only be won by not playing.

It's great, it's thought provoking, it'll make you think, it'll make you question what you're playing a war game for and it'll stick in your mind for years after.

Absolute must play.

Great game. It does for Lara Croft what Batman Begins did for Batman. It makes the character serious, human, emotional, and real. It shows Lara becoming "Lara". She has to fight every step of the way, learn new skills, and in some confronting scenes, learn how to survive. Not safe for the kiddies.

If you've enjoyed Tomb Raider as a kid but "grown out of it" then come back and play this. It's got the same tone as, say, the Last of Us. Not quite as good as that PS exclusive, but it's still pretty good game. There's a few glitches here and there, nothing game breaking.

Oh and be careful with the DLC, a lot of it is filler.
