I've been playing MMO's since Ultima Online. I've done Everquest, Lord of the Rings : Online, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Star Trek Online, DC Universe Online, and countless others.

This is by far the best MMO I have played.

The community is comprised mostly of adults, and helpful ones at that, the lore is everywhere and is well done, the game is positively HUGE, even without any expansions or DLC, and right out of the gate you can group with anyone. Once you get to level 10 (not hard) you can do dungeons with even level-maxxed characters. You'll have only the skills you've earned but the scaling is flawless.

There's some grinding at max level in veteran dungeons and trials, but only if you're after a specific particular item set.

The store consists almost entirely of cosmetic stuff that gives you absolutely no leg up on anyone else, with the exception of being able to buy things like potions or double experience scrolls, which you get anyway as part of the daily rewards.

Oh, and John Cleese voices one of the most prominent NPC's in the game. It's really hard to go wrong there.

I seriously have not had THIS much fun playing a racing game since I played the first "The Need For Speed" game on the 3D0 in 1994.

it's not flight-simulator complicated, it totally fulfills the "action movie" function of cars jumping off of things or smashing into each other, and it has a more-than-decent variety of model choices by default.

I'd buy DLC for more vehicle options.

I still come in 8/8 at every race because I suck out loud at racing games, but this one brought the fun back.

I did not think that was possible.

I sit impressed.

I haven't been a console gamer since the Nintendo 64 was a new thing. I got very used to a mix of mouse and keyboard (or joystick) everything I played on PC.

I've tried out other controllers, x-box that works with a windows PC, adapters for a ps2 controller on a windows xp box (I actually miss that) but aside from the latter, this is the most versatile controller I have ever laid fingers on.

It took a LOT of getting used to possibly because I haven't used a controller in a long time and possibly because the developers of the controller thought differently, but as purchases go, this is one of my more pleasing ones.

It feels natural in my hands, I can reach everything from anywhere, it doesn't require batteries if you use a USB cord, and if you do use batteries, it takes standard AA stuff, so no worries about an embedded lithium ion rechargeable suddenly giving up the ghost and ruining the unit.

Between that and the software integration and the community profiles for various games, and as someone who generally hates most controllers, I could not be happier about my purchase of a steam controller.

I like this thing so much I've actually gone out of my way to purchase games that support it natively.

If you're not wedded to a particular paradigm with regards to controllers, I recommend this.

Here's a game that's basically Diablo 2 with comic book heroes as choices for characters.
Except more fun.
They tied together tons of comic book franchises, which means a crap-ton of character choices, and there's not really any pay to win, just pay to go faster.
You can play any character to level 10, to figure out if you like them, and you get a free unlock of one character to level 60 (the maximum) automatically.

You also get 400 Eternity Splinters as one of your login rewards, which is enough to buy another character.

It's rare that I see free-to-play work so well, but this game does it pretty fairly.

Mind you, there are lots of incentives to spend money, but no part of advancement requires it.

If you like isometric games and Marvel comic book characters, this might be for you.

I picked this game up some time ago because it sounded hilarious.

The first set of caves is a little tedious, but very reminiscint of Final Fantasy 2 on SNES.

The game doesn't really get anywhere until you move from Miskatonia to Dunwitch, which is about a 20 minutes in unless you insist on exploring EVERYTHING, like I do. (not generally worth it, aside from a few 75 gold chests early on. By the time I got a steel sword, I had enough cash to buy one even if I hadn't looted chests)

It has NES level graphics, which I like, but really the best part is the dialogue.

The combat is pretty straightforward as long as you use MP smartly, because your HP comes back after a successful fight., but you only get so much MP back after winning.

The companions are interesting enough to be useful in combat and you can chain combos together, so in that way it excels from FF2 in my opinion.

The game takes nothing seriously, and I probably wouldn't have gotten to the hall of heroes had the power not gone out, because the beginning is so reminiscently tedious of games I grew up on, that I've tried a few times on this and never gotten so far. Thankfully, I had this downloaded onto my laptop and Steam was in Offline Mode.

If you have this game in your library and you've ever enjoyed anything that makes fun of itself (think HP Lovecraft meets Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame) then you'll probably enjoy this.

The game play is seriously old-school nostalgic in the BEST way. None of the old artificial hurdles are there, so I can start and stop at any time and still feel the defeat of loss without having to start an entire area over.

Had I known it was this much fun by the time I got to a three-person group (myself included) and roughly level 11, I would have kept on at this game MUCH sooner.

Definitely not my thing.

The setting intrigued me initially and I love the world it's set in, but as a game, it's essentially street fighter with bird people.

That's not to say the game is bad, It's just not something I would play repeatedly.

I long ago stopped playing combat-centric games.

As this game goes, it has FANTASTIC combat.

If you like focusing on which attack to choose on a particular opponent, you will like this game. A lot.

You will like it doubly if you're into post-apocalytic dystopain sci-fi stories.

I wish they'd expounded on the world they had created more, but I highly recommend this game, despite not being a huge fan of the genre.
