I've played all DA games sooo many times and was so excited for Veilguard, and I'm really enjoying this game so far.

The combat is really fun, and it's neat setting up different combos with companions. I played on adventure mode this time but I'll probably step it up next playthrough.
Maybe some characters take time to grow on you, but I think that's fine, the party dialogue when you're out in the world is great, relevant to whatever is going on and funny at times, classic DA stuff.
There's still plenty of exploration to be had - which feels a bit more straightforward for someone like me who has to scour every inch of a map. Walking around the cities and playing with verticality has been fun, as well as trading with random street merchants and patting every single pup and kitten I can find (can pat cats = GOTY).

I can agree that it doesn't feel as 'dark' as the earlier games, but I do wonder if that's because I'm a jaded adult lol.
Each DA game is a little different to the other mechanics wise, which I don't think is a bad thing as I think too much same-ness in a series can lead to dullness and disappointment as well.

It's been so great to choose to play as a grey warden again and I'm already looking forward to my next playthrough.
