The best kind of remake - tweaking enough in the way of mechanics and plot points to not feel like a carbon copy, incorporating the kinds of graphical and gameplay improvements you'd expect after nearly 20 years of games evolving, but still retaining the soul and fun that made the original version so beloved. Also a ton of replay value both with the numerous unlockables, difficulties, the Separate Ways DLC, and an active modding community. And much like the original RE4, the story is very newcomer-friendly, making it a great entry point for those unfamiliar with the series. A must-play!

Shadow dropping this game has proven to be the best kind of surprise. Great mechanics, aesthetic, personality/writing/acting, soundtrack, technical performance, and just a very cool melding of DMC-esque combat and exploration with rhythm game fundamentals. Despite it only being January, this is very likely to be among my favorite games of 2023.

Dense, engaging, well-written and acted, and just overall very slick and fun. It may have had a bad launch, but by this point, it feels like the modern classic it was intended to be.

A really cool mix of dungeon crawling, loot collecting, and moving to the rhythm of the backing soundtrack. I've seen Crypt of the Necrodancer comparisons, but I'd say a key difference here is that character walking isn't constrained to the beat like that game (Which makes it way more manageable for me, though there's still a decent challenge on the higher difficulties). Bonus points for all campaign songs being unlocked for Free Play mode as well as an MP3 import option for custom levels, though it'd be nice if in the future they patched in more options for that like specifying the level theme.

Great graphics, music, level design, and reimaginings of Sonic levels old and new. The PC version also has a lot of interesting character and level mods available if you do some searching. Easily the best Sonic's often-iffy 3D games have ever reached.

Fundamentals should generally scratch the itch 3D platformer enthusiasts expect from a game of this type, but it manages to carve out its own unique style ultimately, with a big emphasis on personality, slightly twisted humor, and some of the best and most robust mod support for a game of this type. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! Tons of varied, dynamic, and engaging race tracks, a lot of cool character choices from Sega's past and present, a huge amount of unlockable content and varied challenges in the campaign, and great mechanics like the vehicle transformation and stunt moves that elevate this beyond your standard Mario Kart clone. Possibly the most fun I've ever had with a kart racer, and this comes from someone who found its predecessor fairly standard.

Early Access Review
A neat mixture of conventional rhythm gameplay and shoot-em-up mechanics. The pixel art looks great, the hard rock/metal songs are good, and the campaign's dialog and concepts are endearingly crazy and crude. The unique mix of mechanics makes for a major learning curve, though, especially when powerups and driving controls are thrown in too. The track editor is also super confusing and clunky despite having some good foundations. I still had a lot of fun playing the still-unfinished campaign though, and see the game continuing to find fans when it's more refined and balanced in its final version.

Truly fantastic! Wonderful gameplay, gorgeous art and music, a surprisingly emotional and fleshed-out story, and flawless technical performance. One of the finest indie games I've ever played.

Great soundtrack, fun presentation, lots of songs and overall content, numerous control options (I'll vouch for guitar controllers being the most convenient), and a legitimately solid fusion of rhythm and RPG elements. One of my favorite rhythm games in years.
