I am honestly sadden to make this but here we are.

First of all, I am a fan of the previous game and I have the say right off the rip I was extremely excited! I was a little surprised they were making a sequel for this game because I thought the first game was actually good! They could have just updated it and added co-op but I digress. However, when I finally convinced myself to buy this game and try it, oh boy... I was not happy!

Upon booting it up, I went ahead and launched a new game and was in doing the options, no problem. However, when I got in, I experienced some really bad performance issues! I couldn't move smoothly like I normally did in other VR games and it was starting to make me sick (I want to state I have the Meta Quest 2 headseat). I had to literally research why the performance was so awful for my computer to find out the actual graphics settings were in the appdata folder... FIRST RED FLAG THERE! I had to dig into my PC and actually make Anti-aliasing completely 0 as I was suggested and that's when I finally felt the game actually being smooth.

So, going through the game, I kinda felt a little underwhelmed with the intro. For some reason I felt more engaged in the first game's intro areas. That's just an opinion though. However, that's not really an issue. The second issue I was having was the character movement and what not. Now I don't know if I set up my movement correctly which resulted in this but I do not like the arms attached to body mess. I'm 5'5 and I constantly had my head go into my chest and my arms would contort into weird angles and make the gameplay rather awkward. My quest setting were perfectly fine mind you. I tried to keep going like this but I stopped when I came across second enemy blob thing. Now mind you, in the first game, these things were easy to dispatch but when I fought this thing I couldn't fight this thing to save my life. I aim, shoot, my rounds weren't hitting? My arms were contorting a bit which may have impacted my combat and that's where I died...

I knew this wasn't really for me so I went ahead and closed out and immediately requested a refund.

I don't think this game is at all garbage or bad! I think this game needs some serious work. The selling point this game is doing currently is the co-op feature but that's not really my thing! I enjoyed playing it alone and diving myself into the depths of this game. Honestly, I didn't want to refund the game but for $40??? I felt this game wasn't worth $40. Yes, I know it's in EA but this game is simply not ready yet in my opinion.

TL;DR - Wait it out. This game is not ready to be played yet. It has major performance issues and the controls are janky. I highly recommend the first game over this as of right now. I may retouch on this game when it improves.

UPDATE AFTER DEVELOPER RESPONSE:

First off, I want to say thank you very much for responding to this review! It shows how much you guys truly feel about our feedback.

I wanted to address the appdata location where I made the adjustments to my setting as found in the discussions part of the steam community area from a hardware discussion.

C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\IntoTheRadius2\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings

While what you said is another location to edit options, that is where I found out how to completely turn off TAA. Again, I really appreciate you for sharing that with the team.

Regarding height calibration, I’ve had it adjusted accordingly with my VR but I see this is a WIP feature which is understandable.

As for the price, I truthfully respect what you say as this is your product. I was simply saying as an EA game I personally don’t feel $40 is the right amount, especially at its current state but I respect your team’s decision to make it that price as you all deserve a good income from this.

I sincerely hope I will come back and change my review however, I enjoyed the first game a lot and I’d love to see this game be much better! Thank you for giving me an actual response and not a bot generated one!

Alright, I guess I'll write a review now because I already have a feeling where this game goes (I haven't finished this game yet because I focus on side stuff first but as you can see I've put enough in to determine where it goes.)

I want this to be known but I stopped playing BG3 right at Act 2 (First run) to play this game on release. I regret doing that now.

Starfield, yet another game Bethesda has hyped is honestly the boring and lamest Bethesda game yet. I've been a HUGE Bethesda fan for several years. I've been playing their games since Morrowind on the Original Xbox and I've yet to have any complaints on any of their games. Starfield though will sadly be my first.

So what's the issue? LOTS!

One big gripe I have is the story. I've only done one run on this game and about 80% of my dialogue I just quickly glance and skip through *GASP* SKIPPING THE DIALOGUE??? YOU FILTHY NONRPG LOVING HERETIC! Hush, that's just how BORING this story is. I felt so bored with it by the time the prologue was finished. It kinda almost felt... generic. The prologue just reminds me of "OH YOU'RE THE MAIN CHARACTER! YOU ARE CHOSEN FOR THIS! YOU MUST DO THIS!" kind of thing and I don't like that what's so ever. Opinion of course but still. I appreciate it when I develop myself into the story over time and then the realization comes that I am the one for the story. Not my thing...

Secondly, is the combat. Out of all the games Bethesda has made, this one is no revolutionary what's so ever. The combat feels bland and uninteresting. I seriously felt bored with it easily. Also... not much variety when it comes to weaponry. Sure, there's rarity among them but there's nothing special about them other than their value and attachments and few minor changes to their stats. The entire combat system though is just soulless. Shoot, kill. Shoot meaty sponge, kill. Shoot, kill. Move on to next area. Not a whole lot after that. I guess in a sense kinda like Fallout but with a lot less interesting encounters with that. At least with Fallout you fought different types of enemies that made the games feel interesting. Opinion again.

How about the skill tree and leveling up? Mediocre in my opinion. I just don't really see anything unique about this system they've implemented. Each time you level up you place a skill point into a skill to advance it? Kinda seems like they've overdone it by now haven't they? I'm not saying this is a bad thing but I do wish they would have taken this on a different route.

Ship building? It's actually not that bad! I do like the concept of it! It's pretty simple and it does squeeze some content out for you to try and play around with. If you feel like it's difficult you can always just buy prebuilt ships.

My biggest gripe though.... THE PERFORMANCE!!! I didn't build the best PC on the market but I sure have decent parts put in to run games on a good scale. Hell, I even upgraded my GPU before I played BG3 and Starfield (Yes, don't ever get a 4060TI it's not that good......). The game runs like CRAAAAAP in some areas of the game, dropping my frames from 60 FPS to a low 20 FPS and 30 FPS. It's not always like this but it sure as hell gets annoying when it does. You can easily tell this game is not optimized well. I guess the running joke is lEt ThE mOdDeRs FiX iT.

I'm not gonna ramble on. These were my biggest issues with this game. If you want my opinion, wait for this game to go on sale.

I think this game is Bethesda's lab rat for Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. I think they were throwing this game out for not only an original experience but to try out different things to see what to do and what not to do with their next big games. I sincerely hope with all my heart they take a different path after this because ES6 is a game that can't follow this game's path. If it does, Bethesda is going to lose a lot of their fans; me especially.

TLDR: Wait for this game to go on sale then try it out yourself for your own opinion. If you had to choose between BG3 or Starfield, go play BG3. I regret stopping BG3 for this.

This is honestly THE best game I ever played in my entire life.

I rarely write reviews on Steam so this should honestly tell you something.

I know my review will sink at the bottom of the depths of reviews but for those who are reading... I want to explain why this game is honestly amazing.

I have played MANY, MANY, MAAAANY strategy games and video games in general but THIS game right here... Holy crap... I'm much older now and my brain is extremely hard to entertain now a days. I could buy a brand new game that's 10/10 with IGN or all these other stupid reviewers and to me that game just doesn't seem fun or entertaining to me. However, upon playing this masterpiece, I learned that I still have something left in video games to hang on to.

As I mentioned, I've played many strategy games but out of all of them... This game right here is the crown and jewel of them all. Why? The INSANE amount of freedom you can do! While at times this game is extremely challenging, random, and straight up ragequit material I still manage to stick around to this game because how witty and awesome this game is. There will be times you will grow so much that you collapse like Rome... Trust me, it sucks so much and at times it's made me rage but hear me out! If you pull your chair back up and retry an entire new colony you will soon realize why this game is worth playing. The restart value in this game is so amazing. You like Total War games? Sure, they're fun and all and the combat is incredible but Rimworld has soooo much more then those games.

Economy, Resources, weaponry (if you have mods, you'll get more!), manpower, skills, defenses, and so much more I can explain.

All these other games cover the gist of something basic but Rimworld will cover it all.

As of this review I have 122 hours put into this game... Compared to others, this is so tiny... If others are putting hundreds upon hundred of hours into this game surely it couldn't be bad right?

Sadly, I have an extremely busy life and I rarely have the muse to play games these days but sometimes I often think about Rimworld and I think about returning to it to start anew. Soooo... Would I recommend this game?

Yes... Yes, I will! Have fun!!! Make sure if you enjoy this game to buy their expansion! Show Ludeon Studios the support they need!!!

This is so unfinished. I had to use noclip in one part to continue the game. No cutscenes like promised. So much confusion.... Textures are missing everywhere. DEV BLOCKS. Do NOT buy this game and if you did, get your money back ASAP. I knew I wouldn't like this game but I had to see for myself how bad this would be... It's absolutely terrible. You can tell that this game was not even tested by the creator himself. (Lol btw, he didn't let his devs try this game)

A dinosaur game where you get to play a dino and survive?! HELL YES! I was hooked! Saw Youtube videos on it, it just looked fun!

I got this game and tried it and.... and...! I was so disppointed.

First off, you're a dinosaur trying to survive but the players on this game don't act like dinosaurs. I've seen players as large as T-Rexs hang around little tiny dinos. I was a raptor, attacked a smaller herb with a T-Rex guarding it. I got freakin' destroyed... What the hell? Why would a T-rex guard a tiny dinosaur?

Second, the players on here... Are not logical! I walked around and found a ton of CARNIVORES camping an area. There was a lot of log offs and stuff but this place was alike a haven of kids. Some of them were even ROLEPLAYING like some dino friend BS. Wtf?

Finally, the game is BORING. I ran around for almost an hour and found nothing fun. The map is large as hell for a server of 80 people. You easily can get lost and get bored with no interactions. I thought this game would be fun but it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring. I requested a refund for this game. DON'T BUY THIS GAME!
