I seriously love this game and everything it has to offer. The characters, gameplay, story, visuals, and everything else is just fun. Doesn't take itself to seriously and is a joy to experience. All the exosuits are a blast to use and customize with some great looking cosmetics.

Unfortunately it seems a ton of the negativity surrounding this game seems to stem from misinformation, wishing that the game is something else entirely, issues from an abundance of micro transactions and some weird decisions how cross-play is represented in this game. I agree with the latter two but almost all of the game was crystal clear from the developer streams and trailers.

I love the way the game mixes PVP and PVE. It's not the most balanced but this game isn't meant to be competitive past just playing the game like MP games of the olden days used to do. There's no ranking system here, which makes it way more fun to just hop in and play both alone and with friends.

Speaking of with friends, the one biggest flaw that this game has is a lack of cross-platform friends list features (and cross-save to some extent). While the game does have cross-platform play, it does not allow you to form parties with your friends on other platforms (ex. Xbox App w/ Game Pass and Steam). This sucks for me personally as that meant I did have to refund the game on steam just to play it on the Xbox App so I could play with the majority of my friends and will probably hamper the game in the future. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the micro transactions (Battle Pass, DLC Cosmetics packs and DLC Skip packs), they're at least priced much more fairly than a typical F2P title. However this is not a F2P title but at least you can earn skins through gameplay without paying any extra pretty regularly.

I highly recommend you try this game out for longer than a couple of matches (either via Game Pass or Steam). Content is unlocked at a very steady rate and from what I've played in the betas and seen in the trailers, there's a ton more out there that early reviewers have not experienced yet. Just be aware of the caveats that this game has, and don't be surprised if it isn't for you. It's definitely gonna have a smaller than average player base but I hope this one can live on.

Nothing was lost from the transition from 2D to 3D. Instead, everything was gained as RoR2 is way more addictive than its predecessor. I love the variety of each character and how they all play completely different from one another.

It’s funny for about 30 minutes. Then it becomes one of those absurdly difficult indie games but one that isn’t that much fun.

Congratulations to Randy Pitchford for not only making one of the worst games of the decade and siphoning money from this game to fund another but for absolutely obliterating Timegate Studios in the process. After the release of Aliens: Colonial Marines they had to lay off a majority of their staff and close their doors a bit later. They were the developers of the F.E.A.R expansions and Section 8 which I have fond memories of both. Their potential? Gone.

Supergiant takes every element from their previous games and puts them in a blender. Turns out when you do that, you get an emo deity with daddy problems. You also get their literal best game that lost almost every award to Last of Us Part 2. Thanks Geoff.
