greatest university course project game I've ever played :)

What a disappointing prequel. The choices the player makes don't feel like they change anything, making the story feel a little too linear compared to the original. Backtalk is fairly gimmicky, especially considering it doesn't really matter if you fail or not; there's no risk, nor reward for it. Although Chloe's backstory was fairly well explained, especially with the relevance of William, it still leaves a gap to be filled with Rachel's storyline.

The main problem with the game is the ending. It felt devoid of any importance to the storyline, especially considering the gap between the prequel and the original. In fact, most of Episode 3 felt like a rushed, unguided mess of trying to bring the game to a close, where it ended up leaving so many questions unanswered. There was no real point to ending Episode 2 on a plot twist when Episode 3 doesn't fill any holes on the matter, and ends only on that focus.

At the end of the day, Life is Strange: Before the Storm leaves so many plotholes open in relation to the original that it doesn't need to exist, especially considering it weakly elaborated on the real purpose of Rachel other than Chloe's big lover. At least Chloe wasn't a cringe-inducing secondary character this time.
