I loved FTK 1 so I was over the moon that FTK 2 was coming out. I watched all the preview videos, interviews, etc. and pre-ordered the game as soon as I could. With that said, this is an extremely disappointing release.

At the time it came out, there were so many bugs that I waited an entire year and thought "that was enough time, surely the bugs from release will be fixed by now". Nope. At some points, the game is almost unplayable. You get insane flashing on your screen or just black screen which make it impossible to play. If you don't get the flashing, then you get spoiled and have the whole map revealed to you. I was able to finish the entire campaign with a friend, but it was not without extreme effort and restarting many times.

That being said, here is my opinion on the gameplay:

Pros:
- Movement during combat adds a great element to the game that was previously missing.
- The "pre-game" where you get to choose and equip different items is also great.

Cons:
- Bugs make it almost unplayable unless you are very dedicated and are willing to spend hours making it work and restarting.
- Different characters for each chapter of the story. In FTK 1, you had a character you made and were able to complete the story with. This added your own personal lore with friends and allowed you to continue getting stronger as the game went on. In FTK 2, each CHAPTER of the story makes you create an entirely new party from fresh. This makes the game boring in a large portion of the game as it becomes a grind again to get your items, etc. This is one of my main annoyances with this game, bugs aside. I HATED creating a new character for every chapter. It breaks the immersion and fun that you are having with your team.
- The story is quite boring and not as engaging as FTK 1.
- It is not a fun solo-player game like FTK 1 was either. You have to play in a party to get a legitimate experience.
- Tons of mechanics, items, etc. are not explained which add a level of frustration as well.
- WHY ARE THERE THIS MANY GAME BREAKING BUGS 1.5 YEARS AFTER RELEASE?

This is such a pity for the FTK franchise. I'm sad this is how it was executed. If I could go back in time, I would only purchase it on super sale for a couple bucks in its current state.

While I enjoyed the demo and will probably buy the game when it comes out. I believe this will be an awesome game once fully released.

However, it was a very long time to even get to the point to create the Skyship. The controls to drive the Skyship are awful, and not explained well. This caused me to quit and uninstall the demo as I lost all my stuff because I could not get the Skyship to move downward.

Would you like to play the game how you want to play it? No? Great, because that's exactly how Far Cry 5 plays.

The storyline is so infuriating. You can only get so far before you are forcibly captured and made to sit through a cut-scene + story quest, only to be dropped off all the way across the entire map when you're done with it. Didn't think that was annoying enough? Well great, because it does it to you 4-5 times per region.

The small sidequests and other things that you can do in the game [ie. fishing, hunting, etc.] all become so irritating to do over and over again if you are trying to complete all the quests. It became less of adding actual content and something fun or entertaining to the game and more of just running errands to collect random sh-t for nitwits in the forest.

The mass amount of long loading screens for nothing just makes it even more maddening. Honestly just one big headache.

Only get it on sale.

Before the Steam Controller I played all my games solely with mouse and keyboard, PC gamer at heart, but this controller takes gaming to new levels, and opens gaming to a new expansive type of playsyle and customizablity that I never thought was possible. The Steam Controller, by far, is my favorite controller.

TL;DR Dissappoint: bad mechanics/controls, bad dialouge, bad physics; not even worth the small price it is.

I was so excited from after reading the reviews and watching gameplay but I could not get past the fact that the mechanics of this game were horrible, and there was no proper demo or explanation for anything. At one point there is this random purple ♥♥♥♥ that knocks you off the platform and the only way to bypass it is to just walk against it and pray. Most of the time, you are left just repeating the same action, as there is literally no other way, until magically the game decides that it will let you get to the next platform.

Not only that, but the combat is absolute trash. When you have to fight something, it feels like they tried to "spice it up" a bit and just add a lil skeleton dude that you hit once and it dies.

Oh, and did I mention there is no saving mechanic? On top of having little to no controls or options, the game decides when your checkpoints are. Again, I have no problem with this as most platformers have their own checkpoint system, but this one is unforgiving. I could go so far and even have to sit through an entire dialouge section, and then fall off the cliff and respawn 3 years earlier.
I had such high hopes for this game, but was throughly let down.

And before anyone says "it's only $8 don't be so harsh", I know and have played plenty of other low-budget indie games, but not putting in at least SOME effort to make it good is unacceptable.
