Just because "mods can fix this game" doesnt mean its a good game, this is still even in 2022 unplayable. Ive spent more time trying to mod this game to be a remotely comfortable experience than I have actually playing it.

$5 for 30 minutes of gameplay, and apparently every chapter will be $5, just not worth it ngl.

Hey hey people

Now I can finally live out my dreams of playing as Coco the gorilla with cybernetic augmentations to her fingers allowing her to fire her dual pistols 25% faster. Then tragically die by stepping on an explosive plant that kills me instantly like an IED in Afghanistan.
Its very good but very very strange.

This is unironically one of the worst games Ive ever played and Ive played Day One Gary's incident. I cannot believe that the devs charged money for this game when it first came out. This feels like a bad itch.io unity asset flip, games I made in middle school had more depth than this travesty, Ive made better games using block coding. They should have to pay me for playing this piece of ♥♥♥♥ I dont care that its free.

CONTEXT: I've played through this game on ps4 at release, playing probably about 30 hours and finishing the main story.

TLDR: This game is for call of duty boys that dont like to think about playing the game and just want to mow down people in some foreign county over oil or smth. Dont waste your time on this painfully generic cash grab of a game. oh and ♥♥♥♥ you ubisoft, make an original and innovative game for once.

I figured id pick this game up in the recent sale for only $15, I remembered liking it when I played it on ps4 so I thought it might be fun for a little bit. 1 hour in I remembered everything wrong with this massively flawed and poorly optimized game.

First, Optimization. This game is so terribly optimized for pc its amazing. In my first 10 minutes the entire skybox started artifacting, after restarting the game I had massive frame drops at random points going from 60+ to 20-30. Now, normally im fine with games being optimized rather poorly optimized, after all Cyberpunk is in my top 3 favorite games of all time and we all know how that was on launch day. What sets this game apart is how the poor optimization is paired with a bland and uninteresting game, after and hour im already tired of the shooting mechanics, everything lacks punch, it feels like im dumping a airsoft mag into a crowd of people. And if the shooting sucks then why should I play the game, for the forgettable story that is basically 20 hours of side quests? for the stuttery driving mechanics? Why should I even bother playing this mess of a AAA title.

Below Im just going to address 2 reviews I saw that absolutely baffle me.

"Wildlands is still a must-have for anyone who loves the tactical shooting genre"
The stealth in this game is so broken because of the AI that this should not be considered a tactical shooter, spawning bots in Insurgency Sandstorm is more tactical than this.

"---{Audio}--- ☑ Very good"
I dont get this, This game is made up of ubisofts stock gun sound library and lawnmower engine noises for cars. By far some of the worse audio engineering out of any game Ive ever played.

You know that one weird girl that you had in that mandatory art class in highschool? The one that would only talk about manga and undertale? Well that's what this game is, its got a try hard edgy tumblr attitude that tries to make everything feel gritty, but also tries to cram in lol epic pop culture references that make everything stilted and any emphasis it tries to have falls completely flat. Hehe guys we have a Toyota Ae86 that's the car from initial D, isn't that so epic we love anime guys so quirky. I get the whole hyper-stylized Hotline Miami vibe they are going for as well as the kind of quirky FLCL writing and vibe, but none of that works here, the style in Hotline Miami works because it compliments the ultra refined game-play, you don't have that in Star Fetchers, you have a jank combat system that encourages trial and error instead of real skill, and the writing sounds like its from a 14 year old fan-fiction writer. I think this game is trying to develop a central theme of wage cuck life having no real meaning, but it gets so muddled in everything else that it doesn't go beneath the surface level. Would I recommend this game? No, but its free and you don't have to listen to me, im just an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ behind a computer, what do I know.

I don't want to say the advertising is an outright lie, but it does seem to be misleading. You cant really tote "next level physics" when your game engine is less advanced than space engineers, a game that came out 7 years ago, and the cutting mechanics are less fleshed out than Metal Gear Rising which also came out 7 years ago. the destruction physics are pretty limited, only allowing you to cut certain objects, its not like the trailer where you can cut whole ships in half and blow them up and such, instead you just cut paneling off one by one. This game is monotonous, the trailer makes it look like fun explosions and epic levels of destruction, when in reality you slowly drag metal panels to the furnace or processor with clunky ass controls that make this game a chore to play.

I unironically love this game, for a game that was made as a jab at Death Stranding its actually really fun, the physics are stupid fun and its worth playing a few hours of.

This demo took me about an hour to 100% complete, and after all that I feel I can honestly say that there is nothing to this game, its premise of creatively exterminating spiders quickly gets boring when you realize that its the same 10 minute loop over and over again, and the player speed makes this harder than it should be. I understand that this is an attempt to make the game challenging, but there is a difference between hard but fair, and unfair and hard. The physics also need to be tweaked to make this game less of a chore, because when the spiders are on objects often times shooting them will result in the object flying away and leaving the spider alive, I've also had throwing stars just clip though spiders, or get stuck on a drawer that a spider is in. There is a good game in here somewhere but at the moment its a buggy tedious mess. If this was a beta I would be more forgiving, but seeing as its being toted as a DEMO I don't think any changes will end up being made. In its current state I would not want to pay for this game even with more levels, there needs to be more gameplay variety in the final product otherwise I cannot see this being worth anything more than $1.
