Update: PSN requirement has been rolled back, but until our brothers and sisters in other regions can once again play the game, this review will remain negative.

Great game, wished the people creating it didn't have rocks in their heads.

The odd balancing I can forgive, it's annoying, but I can live with it.

Pushing players to sign up for a service that has a proven track record for repeatedly having data breaches, not being available in many regions in the world. It's clear that this decision to keep to mandating a PSN login was made to boost PSN account numbers prior to Q2 earnings call for investors to feel better about attaching their money to a company that clearly doesn't know what it's doing half the time.

The game is great otherwise, easily the best of 2024 so far. But Sony needs to get it's head out of it's own rear end.

Probably the most mechanically deep, and moderately easy to pickup, but still fun to master survival sandbox game out there right now. And they're still adding more content in the future.

So I'm going to preface this with saying, yes I do endorse the game with a very strong caveat

The game is mechanically, a bit of a mess. A majority of critical actions taken in the game are reliant on RNG to execute, and several decision and event chains are currently broken due to a variety of bugs (westward expedition not resetting after failure for example)

The economic game is fun, if a bit tedious, menus upon menus with tooltips obscuring a lot of the information needed to make critical decisions for economic planning, which feels too samey between all econ laws (planned econ is AGAIN the goto law due to the control it permits you)

Warfare is a complete cluster f, I appreciate the idea behind it, but it currently feels half baked with a few glaring design flaws that they really should've worked through before launch. Generals teleporting to fronts, getting into wars with landlocked countries resulting in inconclusive wars, RNG on how a general not only advances the front, but how many divisions they bring to a fight (makes playing minors defending a small area VERY RNG based)

Overall, I've had fun with the game, flaws and all, but there is a huge number of outstanding issues that need resolution, and I can't help but feel that the game REALLY DESPERATELY needed to be delayed for more polish.

Multiplayer is fun, but the progression system is really bad. Will update once the campaign drops and I've had a chance to play it.

It's very faithful to the original games, and that means it's not for everyone.

Every quirk and issue you may have with the original is more or less present. But if you want a blast from the past, look no further.

What is there to say about Factorio that hasn't already been said?

It's addicting game-loop keeps me playing and finding newer and more efficient production methods. No other game truly forces you into the mindset of an engineer, solving practical problems that pile on each other by the minute. Solve one problem, and two more take it's place, but solving them is the entire fun in Factorio.

With even more possibilities presented by the modding community, Factorio presents a sandbox where the player can never truly feel like their factory is perfect. Always an imperfection, a bottleneck to be expanded, materiel shortages to resolve, all to feed the ever growing beast that is your factory.

Even if you are not interested in the premise, you should at least give it a try and see why so many are drawn in and can never come back.

Plays exactly like I hoped a PC version of a modern halo title would.

It's the ultimate John Wick/John Woo action-film game, what more needs to be said?

It is a bit janky and buggy tho

Probably the most fun I've had in a shooter in years, the enemy, weapon, and level design are all finely crafted to encourage a fast and furious gameplay, getting better at aiming shots while strafe-jumping has been a very fun experience that I seldom see in mainstream or even modern games.

And with the future inclusion of Co-op campaign and Modding support, I'm looking forward to even more hours sunk into this game.

Fantastic game, imagine if you took hotline miami, mixed it with a bullet-hell game, then threw in some RPG elements for good measure and you've got yourself Ruiner.

Frustrating as hell, you will die over and over even on "Normal" difficulty, and some parts will seemingly spike in difficulty out of nowhere (looking at you Hongshi! you and your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss fight)

But you learn fast that mixing your skills into optimal combinations can make the difference, shield-dashing to stun for example can make certain boss-battles an absolute breeze once you figure it out.

Overall, Ruiner is a very fun game, and I only wish there was more content to dive into
