To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege. The story is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of mythological stories, most of the content will go over a typical player’s head. There’s also the main character’s neutral outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Nietzschean literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these dilemmas, to realise that they’re not just complex- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the gravity in Thatcher’s existential catchphrase “Fooking lasers” which itself is a cryptic reference to Juan Gelman’s Mexican epic From Today. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Ubisoft genius wit unfolds itself on their screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
