This is a good version of FF1 to play. Would still say that the PSP version is superior.
As FF games go, this is as basic FF game as you can get. Plot is easy and simple, gameplay is also simple and the PR graphics and new soundtrack are both beautiful.
As you choose your own characters and lock them to their selected class at the very start, there are no character buildups in this game, which also means no sidestory or character interaction outside of the group as a whole. The world building is also minimal.
At the same time, this was the first mainline FF game and majority of its features became borderline content in all entries to follow. There are some replayability here too with using a different setup of classes on a new playthrough, but that's it.

Underrated game in the FF mainline series. Can be difficult because level grinding only increases HP, MP and slightly better modifiers on spells/abilities and it's more focused on Jobs/Abilities and equipment. However the newly added boost functions atleast gives you the option to reduce that grind (unless you refuse anything but 1x values). Wish they added the extra content from the GBA/old iOS versions but this was still fun to play through once again. Recommended!

The start of a huge series. Charming, yet has quite the dramatic story moments. Amazing and lively soundtrack!
Maybe a tad bit outdated graphics wise but the gameplay outweights that easily!

Great remaster! Just the fact you can exceed 9,999 damage cap is more than enough for me!

Solid remaster with nice QoL features. Best way to play both games

Great JRPG with good story, good music and gameplay. It has one of my favorite plot-twists later on in the game and some "touchy" moments too that will hit your feelings if you care enough for the characters you play as.
Wish it had more side-quests and non-main story content. The first game had some good optional dungeons to explore near the end and this one sadly is missing that. Still though a very solid game. Hope the Grandia series will see more love in the future!
