You are not quite correct regarding Dante's Inferno. While their lust condemns whoremongers to the second circle of hell, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and pimps making money off of them go all the way to the outer ditches of the eighth.
So long as their goods and services are provided for free, urinalists and devs who exchange ♥♥♥ for scoops and favorable coverage, are "merely" frauds bound for the inner ditches of the eighth circle, which still makes them worse than regular ♥♥♥♥♥♥. But if they also betray the trust of paying patrons and benefactors, then they will be joining the moderators in the innermost ring of the ninth circle, right next door to Lucifer himself.
