REALLY good for a Remaster. Optimization is not much I can comment on as I have a pretty good rig, so for sure look up a video if your specs and the game to see how it looks but overall, really good. I have encountered no real bugs, and am surprised that this game is straight up just Oblivion with a modern feeling and coat of paint. Combat feels the same but also...better? Slicker? Maybe it just LOOKS better but I do swear it feels a little better compared to the original.

If you liked Oblivion, and want to experience again this seems to honestly be the best way to do it. If you've never played it and want to, this is kind of the best way to do it if you're not a fan of older graphics and feelings in games. Overall what a nice lil treat from Virtuos to make for us, just going to show that the best Bethesda Devs, aren't Bethesda.

I just wish he'd give the game over to Devolver, hell I wish he'd give it over to anyone else. But sadly it just has to sit and rot whilst he makes a racing sim :(

Playing through and so far it's very fun. Feels a lot like Metro but just in VR. I can tell some people will dislike the angle at which the character holds a handgun, which for me feels good but it is different than some games. The graphics go from very detailed to obviously a Quest 2 port. The guns, are so detailed you can see the individual weld marks on them, and than the walls or power boxes will look like it's from the PS2 so you get a mixed bag sadly. Gunplay feels good, Lurkers are a bit of a pain to fight but they always have been so it's whatever. Humans and the bigger mutants are fantastic to fight, the feeling of wearing a gasmask works really well since we all ready had a big dumb thing of plastic on our face. Wiping the frost from the glass is a very nice touch and overall you get very immersed very easily.

I see in some reviews complaints about the auto jumping, and the auto sliding down ladders. This is not Bone works, it's not a full on physics simulation, and the straight comparison is best drawn to Half Life: Alyx in terms to how it feels. Performance for *me* was completely fine with a 3080 and an i7:9k. The only stuttering I got was very rarely and only after I alt tabbed to do something for a second.

If you're a fan of Metro it's great at putting you in that world. Feels nice talking around and hearing the stories just like in the other games. The story without going into spoilers is very good for me so far, it's cool seeing The Great Worm Cult from the books brought to to life on screen and exploring the more interesting eldritch/radiation-magic?/whatever the ♥♥♥♥ it is, that we get in the series every so often.

It's 40 bucks, it's a must have if you like Metro and a nice 8/10 for a VR game.

TL;DR at the end

The game's not bad, a lot of people seem to be gushing over it saying it's a 10/10 but it does have some problems.

The core game play is great! It feels a lot like the old BT Games but with some added mechanics, I am not a fan of all of them but most people should enjoy it. Online play is pretty much flawless in terms of connectivity and it's really easy to make a game for just your friends.

The story mode is perhaps the biggest let down that has ever been in a Dragon Ball game. A good number of people say that it doesn't matter, but the older entries in the series went into full detail and had much better cut scenes than what is on display here. Hell I wouldn't even call most of it cut scenes as much as just slide shows that have recaps written by ChatGPT. Going through the entire story also is very annoying, as you have to go through the story of Dragon Ball one character at a time? You'll go through an entire saga with Goku for example and miss 80% of it, and have to back out and load another character to piece the rest of it together. This is the main way to unlock characters besides Dragon Balls as well sadly so it just turns what should be you enjoying a walk down memory lane to the most annoying grind you've ever been through. The what-if stories are alright but the process of getting there is just...why? Why make it like this? Why not just go through the entire story chronologically?

The Online Multiplayer is pretty good, the only thing i'd wish they added was the ability to lock character selection to certain eras. It's pretty annoying when you want to play Early Gen characters only for someone to pick Fully Transformed Broly, SS4 Gogeta, ect.

Lastly we have the worst thing ever which is the amount of Day 1 DLC this thing has. The insanely GREEDY asking price of 30 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollars for the music that should have been in the game in the first place? This may be more of a personal opinion but the music we do have in the game is...pretty awful. It's the most generic nothing music that has no real identity, and when you compare it to the soundtrack of the OLD games it's really a hit in the gut.

Honestly for the price of 70 bucks, or if you want the Season Pass so you get all the characters...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 110 bucks...and if you want the good music that turns into 140 bucks...Yeah no I would not buy it right now I do not think that this is worth it when you can get a pretty similar experience with something like Xenoverse which goes on sale for cheap all the time. That being said if this goes on sale for 40-50 bucks i'd grab it, if it somehow goes on sale for even CHEAPER it's a must grab if you can convince some friends to buy it.

TL;DR - The core mechanics are great, and the online stability is perfect. Good to play with friends. Story mode is awful and feels bad compared to older titles when the asking price is 70 dollars. Music is awful, and the good music is 30 dollars. The ENTIRE game will cost you 140 Dollars, not worth the price, pick it up when it's on sale unless you're a die hard fan.

8/10

If you played the original, or are just a fan of third person hack and slash games, it's pretty good.

Pros:
- The Main Story runs around 10-12 hours, and takes place right after the events of the first game. The story is good and keeps you entertained, and at points genuinely had me surprised at times, not to mention it doesn't end on a cliff hanger this time so thank god for that.
- Combat feels great, the parrying system is a bit iffy but it grew on me more as time went on and certain weapons parry easier as you unlock them. All of the weapon types feel very good and though most of the bolters look exactly the same they play very differently which is good.
- The game LOOKS very good, and if you are a fan of the franchise you'll have a lot to smile at. All the old statues, alien fauna, the gross xeno spores twitching and writhing as they slowly die after being emptied, the servators being ordered around by tech-priests, and the Ultramarine's spare looking living quarters. It's all really nice to look at and the weird swarm tech the devs talk about is pretty impressive.
- Character Customization for the COOP and MULTIPLAYER is amazing. They have tons of Chapters to choose from, and give you a crazy amount of colors to use to create your own chapter or do you best to put your favorite in the game if it's not supported! I was able to remake the Dark Krakens Chapter pretty reasonably well, and I could see you making 1000s of different combinations. The armor pieces all look great, you can mix and match them all per-class, and though the customization for Chaos Marines is very limited they still also look fantastic.

Cons:
- The Companion AI is pretty bad, there are times where you will be downed and they simply ignore you. They don't really focus enemies that make sense, and sometimes will just completely ignore them entirely. Playing on Veteran difficulty it certainly made it a bit frustrating at times, but overall didn't really hurt the experience that much. 70% of the time it works good enough. I recommend going through the story with friends either way.
- Cut scenes seem to CURRENTLY for the early access release have a pretty nasty bug. The very first story cutscene can freeze and crash your game after a few seconds. Some people got it fixed through file verification, you can get past it if you don't press anything and just let it stay frozen and allow the audio to play in which the game will load but you miss the cut scene, or you can press ESC and pause for a few minutes. If you do this it seems to take the time to load the level in advance or something and than plays normally. OTHER cutscenes have stuttering and freezing issues but not as bad, however it can cause the audio to go out of sync. It didn't happen bad enough to make it unwatchable, but it did certainly hinder the experience.
- PVP Multiplayer is pretty...it's serviceable. The biggest issue seems to be the Melee focused classes don't stand much of a chance. In handful of matches i've played you never see them do well on the scoreboards 8 outta 10 times. Most guns out damage every melee weapon except the Thunder hammer it seems, and with the time to kill all ready so fast it really sucks to play something like the Assault. Melee dosen't appear to have any stagger of any kind, so you can just gun them down whilst being hit. Even worse if you attempt to melee the grapple hook class YOU end up being stunned by it as he kicked you and launched you away from himself before killing you. Besides that the length of matches is very short, and could do with a bit of added time/objective score cap. Maps for the PVP gamemode also sadly end up all looking very similar, I couldn't name one to you off the top of my head or tell you much about their gimics. They are sadly ALL just grey stone arenas or dark steel arenas. They could REALLY do to add a map that takes place in the warp, in the thick jungle, in an active warzone with ships flying overhead, anything to have something interesting going on besides dead silent grey lifeless squares with corridors. 40k is a setting with so much vibrant color, it's a shame to not use it. With some updates I can see it being a lot better, but right now it's all pretty mid.

- TL;DR
It's not perfect by any means, but the amount of fun to be had can not be understated. The core gameplay is just so solid and addicting that the short comings it does have can't ruin the experience. If you're a 40k fan it's a must buy no matter what, it lives up to the first game perfectly. Solid 8/10

Performance is bad at launch, very CPU heavy so if you have a good CPU you'll be fine for the most part.

YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR CHARACTER WITHOUT SPENDING MONEY. Don't be mislead that it's the only way as you can change your character very early on by using the RC currency which is super easy to get. EVERYTHING IN THE MTX STORE IS OBTAINABLE WITHIN THE FIRST FEW HOURS OF THE GAME. Don't get scammed don't buy that stuff.

If you played the first game, this one is not so much of a sequel as much as it is a...Remake. The story is better than the first game by far and though it dosen't hold your hand the entire way, it still tells you everything you NEED to know before just letting you loose out into the world. The combat feels fantastic with the exception of the Fighter Vocation. It's pretty simple compared to everything else and overall most of the moves are lack luster. It's still completely useful but just isn't that fun compared to the flash and heavy hitters of the other vocations.

The animations for simply walking around, to combat abilities, are rather insane. It all looks so fluid and life like. The game itself is very pretty but sadly is not able to be enjoyed that much with the current preformance issues. I have a 3080, but a older CPU being a Intel i7 8k. So in town and cities the frames get down to 30-20 and it's just awful. However outside of that I was getting a constant 50+ and sometimes even a steady 110 depending on the area. It never got in the way of fights luckily.

Overall i'd wait for an optimization patch or two, but after that I think it's a must play. The combat is so fluid and fun, all the boss fights just feel RIGHT and weighty and dynamic. When you and your team bring down a giant troll to its knees and the large orchestral sting plays, straight up singing to you to all dive in and hit it with everything you got. The only thing that can compare to it is bringing down monster in Monster Hunter.

tl;dr Wait for optimization patch, game good, Capcom just sucks by adding micro transactions that are not even useful past hour 2-3.
