I like playing games but I don't profess to be any good at them. That said, I find myself drawn to hack-and-slash ARPG looters like Diablo 3 and Torchlight. Knowing my interests, a few friends convinced me to try Path of Exile back in 2.6 and I didn't find myself interested at all.

That all changed with 3.0.

I don't know what it was but I found myself inexplicably invested in Path of Exile this time around, playing over 700 hours this league alone. The campaign is interesting to run through and isn't the same four acts played through three times like pre-Oriath was. Gearing is a ♥♥♥♥♥ and a half though, since you are required to obtain five or six-linked armor or weapons to deal adequate damage and balancing resistances is much tougher than other games I've played. That said, it's an experience that all ARPG lovers should try out once or twice.
