This is an excellent game. It feels like Bioshock and Half-life mixed together with a little Deus Ex and a hint of Portal 2 level design aesthetic. There's several varied playthroughs worth of content here. Do you save everyone? Kill everyone? Use only human abilities? Typhon abilities? No abilities?

Overall, a great game. 9.5/10.

One of the best arena shooters I've played in years! Even movement is fun. Definitely worth buying.

This game is a lot of fuuuuuuun! It's like an oldschool Gauntlet game with RPG elements mixed in. It's great for co-op gameplay, but perhaps too difficult in singleplayer.

The way they balanced the different classes is quite amazing - each one has strengths and weaknesses that go beyond arbitrary mathematics. For instance, the Warlock has great AoE spells, but struggles to kill spawners, turrets, and bosses. The Ranger is great at killing spawners, turrets, and bosses from afar, but has trouble taking on enemy archers in large numbers. The Paladin can block enemy projectiles (archers? no problem!), but can't cope as well with masses of enemies and turrets. The wizard has very little health, but is great at taking out groups of enemies and their spawners, as long as he's not overwhelmed. It's a bit tough to put into words how great the variety between the classes feels, but these strengths and weaknesses are one reason why it helps to bring friends.

My only gripe with the game is that the levels are all manually created (no random generation option), so they might not be as fun to play through multiple times. They're still adding content to the game, so it looks like there will be more to play in the future. There's a level editor so the community can create additional content for it, but it's a bit more difficult to use than I expected - you can't just whip up some new levels with minimal effort.

Overall, it's a great experience with friends. Fun for couch co-op or online multiplayer. Definitely worth playing, especially if it's on sale.

Early Access Review
This game is HILARIOUS and very well done.

You should buy it.

I can't adequately describe how entertaining it is. It's a great simulation of trying to get a fledgling space program off the ground coupled with all the fun of being able to design your own crazy ships and trying to get them to fly. Through it all you'll see the reactions of your probably-doomed Kerbal pilots, which just adds a layer of hilarity on top of the inevitable failures you'll create.

It's possible to reach and orbit just about anything in the solar system with enough practice and patience if you want to take the game seriously. However, it's just as much fun if you want to build insane rockets of which half explode on the launch pad.

While maybe not as implicitly rewarding, failing is just as fun/funny as succeeding. Did I mention all the exploding?

The game is still in development and supports mods, so it will just keep getting better.

Proof that some of the most fun difficulty curves are in fact a series of walls you are thrown headfirst into, again and again.

It says I've only played 7 hours of this game yet I somehow feel like I've wrung hundreds of times more enjoyment per-hour out of Super Hexagon than I have with most modern games. There are no "fedex quests", "quicktime-events" or other time-wasting game mechanics in Super Hexagon. It is one of the most distilled and enjoyable games I have ever played.

But it's also one of the most difficult. You have been warned.

PS - Use the mouse buttons, they're much more responsive.

You can play the original "Hexagon" minigame on Terry Cavanagh's website Distractionware under the 2012 games category. (Google "distractionware hexagon")
Unfortunately this online semi-demo only supports the arrow keys.

Buy this game. Play it with friends. Highly recommend. Play the demo if you have any doubts, but you should probably just take the leap if it's on sale.

The DLC adds new levels, weapons, and enemies, as well as some extra Endless levels and is worth buying if you enjoy the game. If the Complete Pack is on sale, you should probably just buy that.

Let me know if you want to play co-op!

Pretty fun game. The dialogue and story were interesting and humorous. There were some cool puzzles, and a few of them were fairly complex to understand or coordinate.

This game has heavy platforming and quick-reflex challenges, which make up most of the difficulty in many of the stages (rather than complex puzzle solving). Quick reflexes aren't necessarily required for the platforming, they're mainly needed for switching between dimensions. The majority of the complicated platforming parts actually happen in the slow motion dimension.

Unfortunately, as with most other games in the genre, this one is pretty short. I completed it in under 5 hours despite failing repeatedly on a few of the puzzles, in addition to taking my time to absorb the somewhat-skippable story. I would have liked to see another hour or two with some more puzzles that were mentally challenging rather than reflex-based.

Recommendation: Buy it if you love the genre or if it's on sale.

Description:
Interesting game with well voice-acted dialog sequences. The game is like an RPG mixed with DDR (or other Rhythm games) but for your fingers.

Difficulty:
The screenshots and videos make it seem a lot more complicated than it actually is. I'm playing on Hard, and it's rather difficult, but there are 2 easier difficulty settings and one harder one, so it's been designed for people of all skill levels. There's a tutorial that seems to comprehensively cover the game mechanics.

Controls:
You can play this game with a keyboard, but I'd recommend that you have an XBOX360 controller to play this game as it seems to be designed for it. I don't think you can use a dance mat to play the game; it requires more buttons than are typically on mats.

Price:
For $5 this is a pretty good deal if you like rhythm games. I've played for about 2 hours and am on the second out of seven levels. However, so far there have only been around 4 different songs, but the game does randomize a lot.

This game is a lot more fun and exciting than videos and screenshots can convey. It's a strategy game that somehow manages to be simple, complex, and captivating all at once.

It has an overworld map sort of like the board game Risk. Selecting a zone on the overworld starts a real-time strategy mode where you try to rescue civilians and kill zombies before nightfall (usually about a minute or two). The difficulty is variable depending on what units you have available during the missions, but there's plenty of options to reconfigure the game to your liking.

There's a demo, so give it a try and see for yourself.

This game is frequently packaged with other indie games, so keep an eye out for bundles and get even more for your money!

This game is AWESOME. Extremely well-polished singleplayer experience full of humor and fun.

The art, the audio, the gameplay, it's all quite solid and well-executed. The maps are significantly varied in layout (though not so much in art style) and all leave room for different strategies and play styles. The game really starts to open up as you unlock more abilities as you progress through the campaign.

I would highly recommend this game if you enjoy singleplayer, action games, and/or tower defense games. There are some pretty crazy sales for it, but honestly I would still feel like I've gotten my money's worth at full price.

The DLC is definitely worth buying if it's on sale, but maybe hold off if it's full price and you haven't fallen in love with the game yet.
