I finished the last of us part 1 last night. I really liked it but I’m not so sure about the ending despite seeing it coming from the beginning (no spoilers). Lots of great twists and turns along the way. I really liked it. I can’t wait until they release part 2 in a couple years. Kind of like resident evil but better imo. The sound design is particularly impressive and I would strongly recommend playing with your favorite set of cans when you sit down with this game. audio dynamic range and sound stage is EXCELLENT here, lots of excellent atmospheric audio, really good voice acting, the audio team brought their A game here. Visuals are also pretty impressive, particularly the lighting effects when ray tracing is enabled and maxed out. one minor complaint is that lip movements sometimes don't match the voices which broke immersion for me from time to time, but it's fine. the art style doesn't try for ultra realism, so there's not much to worry about as far as uncanny valley stuff, it all still looks pretty fantastic. While this game *is* on rails, the narrative is *really* good and they tell a really good story in a really enjoyable way. it felt kind of like I was playing a half-life game.

warning: I got 80-100fps on my 4090. This is NOT an optimized game and requires a very modern pc to get a good experience from it at high resolutions at ultra settings. Also, it takes quite a while to initially build shaders for this game and will use 100% of your cpu while doing it (I'm on a 5950x (16c/32t) and it took maybe 3-5 minutes the first time around).

This was a very fun game with all the original voice actors and the plot was actually really good. Certainly a really good Star Trek Prodigy adventure and great for all ages, HOWEVER, I'm not without my gripes. pressing F through each line of dialog was really annoying - I really wish that there was an automatic continue option so I don't have to keep mashing F in order to listen/read the story. Also I found the story rather exposition heavy. I wish they'd show more instead of telling. That said, I found some of the puzzles (particularly in the late game) VERY challenging. there were some times in the time anomaly sequences where I really didn't know what to do and I kept trying to same cycles of things over and over again... I feel like they could have done a better job with those puzzles making one influence the other more, but they were still pretty challenging and fairly rewarding.

finally there comes the point of cost... I honestly can't recommend that people spend $50 on this. AAA games are $50-60. and this didn't feel like that at all. don't get me wrong, it's a good game, and I hope people who are interested in a good trek game with fun puzzles and satisfying combat pick this up, but not at $50... Pick it up in a steam sale like I did for at LEAST half price. $20-25 is a decent price for it. If i'd known how short it would be and the fact that we only have platform puzzles and one style of combat to do in this game, I probably would have waited longer to pick it up until it came down to maybe $15ish. but I really like star trek, and I really like star trek prodigy in particular. and I'm ok with it.

ZOMG if anyone hasn't tried Hi-Fi Rush, it's amazeballs. up front it's beautifully cell shaded, TONS of humor, fantastic story, and on hard mode, which is where I played, it's extremely challenging but VERY rewarding. I liked it so much I beat it over the course of 3 days (and it's not particularly short). the music is great (some licensed tracks, some originals (the originals are actually quite good too, i'm thinking about picking up the OST). for the best experience, play with the best headphones setup you have access to. synchronized precise timing is very important. robotic music powers are pretty dope, you make good friends along the way, and your robot kitty friend, 808, is super cute and very helpful.

HOLY CRAP! Detroit: Become Human is THE BEST LOOKING game i've ever seen and has one of the most compelling stories i've ever seen in a game. it's nothing short of fantastic! The voice acting and digital puppeteering convey a huge array of believable realistic emotion, the drama is dense and interesting and compelling, and it builds concept after concept on top of such tasty graphics amd a great score with a story full of exploration of what it means to be alive, slavery, freedom, and ethical fortitude and is a story that's even more important in today's political climate than when it was originally written.
I just wish that I'd chosen to spend more than a day playing. I literally played it all day and went to sleep around 06:00. I couldn't put it down. I had to knew what happened next.

This game is fantastic! - the story (spoiler free) revolves around the post-judgement day future described in terminator 2 (pretty much retconning all the media thereafter... you are Jacob Rivers, resistance infantryman. you start out by finding and helping a group of survivors get out of pasadena to a hideout, and eventually a resistance base where you join their ranks doing tactical recon and various side missions. everyone you work with has their own story and there are quite a few role playing elements. this game feels a little like fallout 3 with the hacking and lock picking systems being pulled pretty much straight out of that game. it all feels very bethesda in terms of how things work, but the systems are implemented quite well and gunplay feels really good too. there's lots of stealthing and tactical decisions. I'm playing on hard and you die a lot but defeating sections is very rewarding both in loot as well as satisfaction. music and game play work together to make for VERY anxious gameplay when trying to stealth around terminators and you have to get really close... I sometimes found myself pausing to breathe and unclench following a particularly tricky sequence. they nail the horror aspects. overall, this is just a really good game that I'll easily recommend, particularly if you can get it on sale.

While I would have wished for updated graphics, what it lacks in that department is made up for incredibly rich and complicated game play. This game is rather like civilization meets simcity in space and it's FANTASTIC! it's an easy way to blink and lose 5 hours.

This game was excellent! It feels like a single-player, less-complicated version of star trek online with an old west, mostly-lawless flavor. The ship designs are all really cool with multiple classes and different skins for each of the factions, all with different stats to keep things fresh and plenty of strategies to learn for how to dispatch various types of craft.

I did find the missions that lead-up to the end to be a bit of a grind-fest while I was trying to configure my ship with all the best of the best before I took on the last set of plot missions but beyond that slow grind bit toward the end (which is probably not even nessasary, I just WANTED to max everything out before taking on what i thought was the most dangerous missions in the game), I thoroughally enjoyed this game. I played it hard for about 2 weeks and enjoyed myself.

This game is really fun. it has ALL of the gaming platforms current to date, and it's a really interesting take on strategy simulation games. they keep things very simple and to the point. it's really easy to learn but difficult to master. TOTALLY worth the small asking price for this really fun indie game.

This game is so much fun that I pretty much beat it in every waking moment over 2 days. there are some tough bits, but the story captures every bit of the action/adventure found in the new star trek movies with voices and motion capture from the original actors it felt like I was zach quinto playing spock.
