Great old school shooter with some modern elements, it lacks depth in the story, but its level design and fun shooting sprees makes it an awesome game.

With an engaging story, great side quests, crisp pixel art and responsive controls; Iconoclasts got me hooked from the beginning. One of the best of the genre, no doubt about that. The puzzles are entertaining without frustrating the player. The mechanics are very innovative and creative with its small but effective myriad of guns and tools being very well adaptive in numerous gameplay styles. The syncretism of the history is very well made and appealing, with great design choices throughout the gameplay.

Gotta give the credits to the Devs: only two and made a fair game. But you gotta criticise some major aspects, even when you got it on sale as I did:

• Gameplay is ok, but too frustrating most of the times*
• You only spam the same attack without any combo system**
• Character design (Hero and Enemies) is really uninspired;
• Level design also not the best one, but fair;
• You got some Gold but can only buy more lives and nothing else;
• Even with some good pixel art the game itself feel kinda off;
• Amulet system is bizarre and almost not effective at all***

*Primal Light got this "Ninja Gaiden" knockback that made me want to throw my notebook on the wall a bunch of times;
**Can't even strike down. Can't purchase any move from the shop; Can't charge a powerful one either;
***Gotta equip only two at a time and some don't even add up to the gameplay. i.e. "Hiding the HUD from screen"(?)

In overall it's a good uninspired arcade time killer (the mostly encourage you replaying over and over for high score, yet I feel this game has really bad replayability since I finished it), but they should stick to the Steam Sale price tag or else it's too overpriced.

The pixel art style is marvelous, the beginning of the game is well paced with lots to uncover. The controls are simples, yet functional but with no alternative to customize. Going through the game I though some dialogues dragged along too much, sometimes trying to explain what we already deduced and this can be pretty annoying. Overall a good story with interesting characters and beautiful style.

Great atmosphere with lots of engaging storylines painted through Spanish Inquisition pixel art style. Some dynamics could be improved and upgraded in future versions, but for me as a casual single player have loved all its aspects. Deep diving into the spanish religious culture.

The best action platformer of the decade. Been playing since its release but only now added on Steam. The game engages you like no other. Swiftly precise control response, amazing replayability, gorgeous pixel art, comedic dialogues, great character and weapon designs. This game is a must have for all. 10/10

With a deceitfully hardcore gameplay, Momodora catches our attention from start to finish with pixel perfect commands, captivating story, beautiful visuals, engaging characters and great level design.

It has some potential – specially with a folk-comedic story, but it lacks work in the most important aspect of any sidescroller: movement control. The scrolling itself is bizarre and flows with way too much momentum, even more with the characters being composed by 10-pixel sprites, all the movements are too abrupt. Clearly lacking completion.
