It's great, really fun and even tho it's easy to get high ranks, it is indeed much harder than the original's.

I just wish the classic songs were also available in the Classic SFX DLC, even if not dynamic..

It is definitely better than the original's "Separate" Ways, where Ada would just go in places where Leon had already been or at the same time he was in said places. But how good is it?

Well.. the voice acting for Ada is trash, that is a big turndown, I had to play with Portuguese voices because it was unbearable, and even then, the voices don't quite fit, especially the personality of the character, because since the original reference material is bad, therefore the work derived from it may also be bad, the same thing that happened with Krauser.

I really enjoyed the way they worked with the black-robed "Verdugo", Pesanta, making it some sort of a pursuer enemy for Ada, even tho it's obviously scripted. Also enjoyed the way they turned it into U3, making the boss actually fit in the game's B.O.W theme, since the entire game you'd just see parasite-controlled enemies and said parasite is insectoid and also insectoid enemies, and then all of a sudden you get this weird tentacle-armed reptilian long-tongued humanoid enemy in what is one of the worst areas of the game script-wise.

But here's my problem with the DLC.. It's too short. I know the original's was also too short, but.. come on, man. The game forces you to NOT explore, by closing paths you should have been able to cross and that you are able to cross as Leon. The one object that closed a path that made me the angriest was when you were going to the farm and as Leon there is a very little cabin with just a typewriter and a barrel, and when you go there as Ada there is a bicycle wheel in front of the door that doesn't let you go through. It is so enfuriating, man. Ada is supposed to be a spy and all, she is there just for one job: getting the Amber, and she should do it quickly. But meanwhile, Leon is also supposed to be there for one very important job he should get done ASAP, rescuing the president's daughter, and he doesn't stop exploring for resources because of that.

What I mean is, the DLC is decent, but it's made so linear, unexplorable, that you end up getting a short experience. And I see many people saying "Oh, but it's better than RE3's Remake, and it's cheap" and I get that, but consider that 85% of it's assets were reused from the main game, not that they should make new assets since it's set in the same place and mainly the same areas, but that means they didn't have that much work to do.

Some things I enjoyed are that they made some new areas (that I appreciate them making, since said areas were present in the original but not in Leon's campaign in the Remake), the second Verdugo having that new role it has, Ada actually being able to upgrade her weapons, and the way she fits better into the story now.

I must say tho.. two things they really screwed up with were:
1. The new Martinico enemy that is just a single scripted enemy that you don't actually fight, and that was so underwhelming because.. man, it's such a good design. And with that enemy, they brought back the Laser room, and it makes a little more sense now, but it's still like.. why do it? They turned down the weird superhero action scenes in the main campaign (tho a few are still present), and then in Ada's campaign they do this, and she mocks the entire situation all the time, it's just really weird to me.

And 2. Wesker's role. He has essentially the same role he had in the OG RE4's story, but now for some reason he comes where Ada is, helps her and then complains about her taking too long to do her job, and suddenly goes back to his weird high-tech room, that seems to be in a huge ship. Like, the problem to me is simply him traveling a really far distance in a really short period of time just to then go back to said ship unexplicably and complain about Ada not doing the job for him while he is there and he can do the job faaaar quicker and more efficiently than Ada can. It just makes no sense at all.

But yeah, anyway.. get it if you have some spare money or if it's on sale, it's not that bad. You also get the classic costumes for Luis and Wesker once you finish it, which is pretty nice.

Pay to win in an expensive singleplayer game. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Why not include the treasures in the main game, just to milk off some more money? Some of the treasures that should have already been in the game have been placed into this DLC, and this is just horrible. I feel like the game has very few hanging treasures without the DLC.

The only real reason I don't uninstall this DLC is Ashley's acessories, that are all but one locked behind a paywall. Pathetic.

Exactly what there is to be expected, pretty good.

However, for some reason CAPCOM didn't make it work with Separate Ways, nor with the Mercenaries.

They also don't use the classic old title announcer that they used for RE1, RE4 and RE5.. it's the bad announcer from RE2's classic sounds DLC. The main menu's song is the remake's, so there is no silent menu like in the original either.

For those reasons and those only, I'm not recommending it.

I love this game, but.. I'm joining the train. CAPCOM's stance to modding and now trying to DRM single-player old games is unforgivable.

This is just disastrous.. I played it a bit and there are some pretty good ideas in the game, but the execution is just awful. Everything is pure jank, the controls feel unresponsive, getting through any climbing section is just pure pain because the game doesn't seem to work well.
Also, I just hate games that you need to patch with fan-made fixes just to make them playable.
Don't think I'll ever open this game again, it's just really unplayable. Wish I could refund it.

I really, really enjoyed it. It's one of the best remakes I've ever played or heard about. RE2 Remake was bad, and 3 was even worse, both full of cut content and designs that went too far from the original ones, so that made me worried about 4's, but they managed to nail it. The story now makes more sense, the game has as much content as the original (if not more), the map's layout is really good, I personally think it makes more sense and the world feels pretty big and real, I just loved it man.
My only complaints about the game are regarding the voice acting, which in my opinion is just unbearable, I had to switch to my country's voices because it really annoyed me, especially Ada's and Krauser's. The only good ones are the Merchant's, Ashley's and Luis's. Also this unfortunately extends to the ganados, they don't really have that impact the original ones had; And the lack of Assignment Ada and Ashley's popstar costume. Some unnecessary showoffs bothered me, like Leon backflipping because of the chainsaw ladies instead of just walking backwards, but since they're less frequent than the original's I can't complain much.

Overall, amazing remake, to me it's on par with RE1's remake.
Also want to give props for them making an excellent optimization, game actually runs properly. (Can't say the same about RE8)

I don't get why people are so angry at this one, it's actually pretty fun. The only considerable problem I've noticed is regarding the ping, sometimes when it's bad you're gonna get hit and not see the person who is hitting you moving.
By the way, we really need more creatures.

I am against the battle pass tho, however there's nothing pay-to-win in it. Also, I wish those who bought RE8's Deluxe or Gold editions got at least something in the game.
