This game is truly representative of the 90's FPS era. It's hard as nails, has satisfying gunplay, and is an experience that's truly special. It also brings co-op to the table, so you could bring your friend to endure the many rooms of cultists, gargoyles, and zombies that await you.

I would recommend this game to those who still value the importance of an FPS singleplayer experience, those who want a full and enriching game from the get-go, and those who want some legitimate challenge. In our age of lootboxes and dumbed-down difficulty, it's nice to return to this pure classic.

Although this port of the game has its flaws, I would still give this a solid 9.5/10.

Edit: I first wrote this review in April of 2018. It's been more than a year and a half since this review and I still come back to this game excessively. The gameplay isn't affected by time, it's truly the most pure gaming experience you will have in your lifetime. I can still recommend this game to literally anyone, especially since we're nearing 2020. Now, get to slaying some cultists, you absolutely epic gamer.

Still better than the Playstation 2 port of Quake 3.

CS 1.6: A classic search-and-destroy experience that's still fun to this moment.
CSS: A rendition of the classic formula, but with new maps, the new Source engine, and Steam support.
CSGO: Russians, case openings, and inspecting those beautimous skins.

Obviously this is the superior version.
