Several hours of fun!

Fast paced and a good mix between skill and luck for your playthroughs.

Overall a very polished and good game!

Early Access Review
7/10
Good game. Large amount of content. Quite enjoyable and still in early access!
Definitely worth picking up during a sale and maybe even on full price if you enjoy these kinds of games.

+
Quick hack and slash gameplay.
Interesting loot and item combos.
Large amount of class choices and min maxing.
Easy respeccing.
Good controls.
Humouring references.
A LOT of choices.
Cool crafting and socketing systems.

-
Some optimization issues ( game starts lagging after a while ).
Audio/SFX quality (especially voice fx).
Story and quests are quite uninteresting.
Bossfights were a bit lackluster unfortunately.
Everything is instanced. Would be nice to have the world a bit more open.

A good game that definately deserves to be played. Highly enjoyed the Nemesis system and combat.

More RPG elements such as talents, equipment and quests together with a larger open world would make it even better. Hoping for a sequel!

By far one of the best single player games you will ever experience. If you like RPGS, immersive story, intuitive combat system, crafting, looting, leveling, beautiful graphics and sidequests... So many sidequests then this is the game for you. It's one of the few games I would recommend buying at full price just because it's so damn great.

The story of The Witcher 3 is enthralling to say the least. It grips you from the very start and even if you haven't played the earlier games or have read the books, you will quickly get into the political, racial and social intrigues that the game has to offer. Not to mention, every conversation is voice acted and sentence skippable! Being able to skip sentences but not the entire conversation is so damn good and I can't believe there are so many other similar games that haven't picked this up yet.

Combat is fluid, quick paced and rewarding/punishing. You can play the slow "tank" archetype with Parry/Block skills, Bear School armor gear and Freeze/Stun/Stagger runes on your weapon. But at the same time, it's perfectly viable to play the quick fighter with Whirlwind/Bleed skills and Cat School gear quickly shredding your enemies but you will have to be a bit more careful. I really recommend that you play the game on a higher difficulty setting to really get the most out of the combat in the Witcher 3 as it quickly becomes quite easy when you are roughly the same level as your prey.

Oh a ?, oh another ?.... Oh wait more ? ? ? ?. Yes, there will be sidequests and objectives/discoveries to be found EVERYWHERE in the game, and you won't be able to complete all of them. Considering these are not randomly generated one can only applaud CDPR in providing more content in a non procedurally generated single player game, then most games can even dream of coming close to. And since it's all created by hand, it feels genuine and polished which is something you cannot say for most games containing procedural content generation.

There are a few things that I feel could have been improved.
- The physics. Many times you will get stuck on small piece of rubble, stuck in small snags on the railing or fall down in some obscure part of the world.

- The water handling. Since a large portion of the game is played in places with water, the handling of Geralt in these environments could have been improved. Giving a higher swimspeed or more manuverability underwater would have greatly increased the game experience of these parts.

- Difficulty scaling. It's hard keeping a game of this size balanced for players but you will quickly find yourself outleveling many of the quests and even when playing on the highest difficulty, it's not really a match unless you face monsters that are a lot higher level than you. Dynamic scaling of monsters (could've been a difficulty) to always match your level would've made the game more challenging and rewarding.

All in all, the game is a masterpiece and sets the bar quite high for the next generation of RPGS coming out.

PoE 2.0 Hype!

Update review #2

They have included an ingame possibility to auction items through the poe.trade website indexer. This has made it so much easier to trade items and has really made the meta game a lot better! They also added a currency tab (premium) which made currency handling easier.

The Ascendancy patch was a let down unfortunately. Personally I really don't like the Labyrinth and I find the Ascendancy classes to narrow your choice when playing certain builds. I'm still increasing the rating to:

9/10

Well they fixed the desync with the awakening patch and you can now roll with a bit slower network response but much more accurate.

Highly recommend this awesome game! Some small nitpicks about what I'd like to see in the game is a more suitable way of trading stuff/marketplaces and to make more builds viable for endgame.

This game is pretty much everything Diablo 3 wasn't... A hardcore game for hardcore gamers better in every way possible except for one thing... The 6/10 boils down to one simple thing... Desync.

Playing this game is amazing and frustrating at the same time. Yes the monsters are sometimes quite hard or the endgame bosses might give you a fight but in the end it's pretty much the desyncing of your character that will be your biggest enemy.

Getting stuck in corridors and not realizing it until you are pretty much dead, attacking enemies that aren't actually there and waiting 1-3 seconds to pick up an item because your character is not anywhere close to where it's portraid on your clients screen are just some of the things that you experience all the time when playing PoE.

It's incredibly frustrating knowing that this game could be so much better if this problem was fixed but unfortunately GGG has talked about this not being a top priority for them.

Still worth playing. But could've been so much better.

A very intriguing story and the game plays like a movie and it does it good. Many games that try to aim for a similar effect fall short, but Tomb Raider is one of the few good games I've played in a while and It's strength lies within excellent voice acting, a great story, polished gameplay and intriguing game mechanics. One thing that shatters the illusion of allowing players to immerse themselves in the game is unfortanetly the abuse and overuse of quicktime events. Without these, and larger player freedom encouraging replayability, this game could have become one of the games worth remembering and replaying.
