Undertale was the best impulse buy I've ever done.

If you're a fan of RPGs at all, I'd fully reccommend that you check out this game. This game deconstructs and subverts common tropes that you'd find in other RPGs and presents them in a fresh, and interesting way that will get you hooked and wanting more. The humor in this game is legitimately funny, and doesn't rely on crass jokes or low-brow humor to get you laughing. The music in this game is freaking fantastic and makes traversing through levels and fighting enemies a treat. Every single character, including minor enemies in this game, have their own personalities and the several different ways that Undetale allow you to interact with these characters will make you feel very emotionally invested into their well-being.

That being said, this game isn't without its flaws. This game has a fair amount of long corridors, and since the main character you play as can't run, backtracking and walking through environments with these long corridors can get fairly tedious. The length of the game is also fairly short, with it taking 5-6 hours to get through the story. So if you're expected a 30-40 hour playthrough, think again. Luckily, Undertale is meant to be played over the course of multiple playthroughs, with each playthrough being significantly different from the one before. So if you want to see everything that the game has to offer, it'll take about 20 hours of gametime.

Overall, Undertale is a fantastic RPG that's well-deserving of its praise. If you have the money, definitely check out this game and remember: Stay Determined.
