This game is awesome, kind of like Rift Wizard as a fighter class. So many crazy god-race-class-equipment combos to try, and pretty interesing monsters to try them against too.

Long time fan of the series.

That said- dom 5 does add quite a bit. Being able to customize your bless changes the game completely, as does real time combat. Nothing that worked in dom4 will work in dom5, and vice versa.

What more could we ask for?

The smoothness of this game is quite amazing. Few games come close to the sheer joy of this game's combat.

Teaching yourself to charge, slice, and slam at the right moments is pure joy. Watching the cute-but-deadly enemies move around, attack, and take damage is also pure joy.

The animation and sound in this game- wow!

The RPG advancement isn't amazing right now but the sheer awesomeness of the combat more than makes up for it- and hey, it'll probably improve as time goes on, this is month 1 of early access.

Recommended for anyone interested in action games.

Pros:
Unlimited character customization options to explore

Cons:
It barely matters, the game is a loot supermarket no matter what you do

Its got alot of cool concepts, but this game fundumentally does not respect your time. For me, that was eventually a dealbreaker.

A rote fps that brings nothing new to the genre. Lots of waiting, little respect for the players time or intelligence. Combat is mediocre.

Beautiful and deep.

The designer did a good job making the exact configuration of your ship very mechanically relevant. You can spend hours thinking about where to place your thrusters, armor, turrets, ect.

The progression isnt bad either- there are 12 factions, each with many parts to unlock. Its hard to describe how different it feels going from a faction that lets you make things out of squares to a faction that forces you to use rhombuses instead.

Fighting player made fleets is also pretty awesome.

The minigame of "Can you make a ship for X points that beast everyone elses ship that they spent X points on" is actually really interesting and deep as well. Watching the AI pilot your ships is quite interesting (though its a shame there isnt a more formalized way of pitting your designs against specific friends' ships).

This game is basically a better, more fleshed out version of the spore cell stage.
