Early Access Review
The game has a lot of potential, just needs to get to a stable build and multiple QOL (gameplay) improvements.

I've encountered some issues that make it difficult to play, or just unplayable at times (like workers disappearing, or "working", but never actually completing the building/task).

Hoping to see more updates on this game so I may continue playing it when it reaches v1.0.0!

Early Access Review
To the DEV:
Keep at it, I'm loving it so far! Long-time RPG / rogue-like game player looking for that itch!

To the players:

This scratched that rogue-like RPG itch I had for a while.

For an early access game this is pretty solid so far. There's certainly some bugs and some improvements to be made, but if the roadmap follows through, it'll be one you'll likely come back to play again.

I got this game when they added human factions (0.5.4) and have already played it for over 80 hours. It certainly is a way better version than the previous hope for rogue-like RPGs of Stoneshard.

In the current mode, expect some OG classes like a rogue or barbarian. First play-through I got to level 62 with a Knight because I kept dying as a Chef as I learned how to play the game. Second play-through I got to level 52 with a Druid (this was more fun to play, but a little annoying at times in some battles as it's a turn-based (with group movement/attacks to speed things up).

PRO
  • For a 0.5.4 version of the game, a fair bit of content.
  • Crafting, cooking, alchemy, enchanting, class-specific skills, overworld and economy.
  • Save regularly. I don't care to cheese some things, at least play the way I want.
  • Plenty of RNG; I had to travel around multiple cities to get the gear I wanted for my end play-through.

NEUTRAL
  • Early access game with a hefty price, but I've supported games like Kenshi and enjoyed it. If you don't like early access, then wait to see if they release this game by EOD 2024 as they expect. IMO, the price point isn't so bad provided the content given so far from an indie developer.
  • Of course with any piece of programming, you can expect bugs.
  • Repeatable quests are repeatable, but add some variety in rewards would be nice, or faction-specific rewards.

CON
  • Not yet full access / not complete game.
  • Not necessarily a CON, but I'd love to see this be playable on the keyboard or Steamdeck.

Wish I could really play this game, but there's some game-breaking issues that prevent me from doing so. (even after trying out some solutions I found online)

1. Game doesn't load in English (that's fine, seemed like an option I can change in-game)
2. Screen loads like "windowed" mode then proceeds to take up full-screen... in-game option to finally change to English appears on the bottom left. However, due to some resolution issue or something it can't be clicked.. every time I try, I turn on/off the sounds instead. Major flaw & inconvenience IMO.

I tried several things:
1. apply "windowed" mode to game load - no luck
2. Tried options here: https://test-steamproxy.haloskins.io/app/411760/discussions/0/496880503067031111/ and no luck.

Realized I spent 20 minutes try to get a game to boot properly, asking for a refund.
