Destiny 2 is sweet. This got review bombed from a difficult launch (migrating 100k plus users to a new server environment is incredibly difficult) and the amount of content in the base game is crazy.

+ Survival Mode is pretty great
+ Places are scattered with little stories to piece together
+ Some of the side quests are the best I've had in a game
+ The abundance of companions is really neat

= Base building is useless but kind of cool

- The main storyline is pretty bleh
- Dialogue options blow, your own character's speech is terrible
- Combat feels kind of stiff

I'm not entirely sure what to think of Fallout 4. The survival mode is a game changer. I would have rated it pretty lowly without the inclusion of it, but the survival mode really creates a level of immersion similar to Fallout New Vegas (My favorite one). It takes the weakest element of the game (the storyline), and puts it to the back as you explore and die and fight your way through the virtual wasteland. The end result is a satisfying surival game with a beautiful backdrop and an okay story that ties the game together. If you treat this as a survival action game with RPG elements, it does a really good job at it. If you're expecting a genuine fallout sequel, it kind of falls flat.

I wasn't really sure I was going to like the steam controller when I got it. Because of that, I got it from gamestop, which apparently has a generous return policy during the holidays. To be honest, the first day was rough. I really wasn't used to how the controller handles, and the controller DEFINITELY has a learning curve. However, after a while I found that I liked the controller better than using a mouse and keyboard when playing on a TV. I have had my rig hooked up to both a monitor and TV and it is far more relaxing for me to do the latter.
