somehow, 16 years after release, spore servers are *still* up.

for me, this is a childhood game that had technical issues & was never particularly deep- but the sheer sense of scale, from cell to space, coupled with a user creation focus is something that no other game has ever captured. growing between all of the stages, the game becomes more complex- and the earlier stages never become irrelevant.

my replays have been getting shorter and shorter as i find the game has less and less depth for me, but there really is no other game like this.

A fast, short precision platformer with wonderful level design. If I ever took more than a handful of deaths, it was because there was something new that I needed to understand. Wonderful little game overall!

It's a very smart game- the time mechanics are used to maximum effect here.
