Just finished the "main" story and here are my thoughts.
Bear with me, I do not write reviews often and english isn't my main language so don't expect anything grand.

Performance
Yes it is an issue, let's pray that they solve it fast.
Capcom didn't learn their lesson with Dragon Dogma nor Monster Hunter World on release.
I mostly experienced some lag drops on heavier areas such as the desert with the oasis or the towns. Streaming this to my friends on discord was also out of the question as it just tanked the FPS.

Story
This is controversial because who plays Monster Hunter for the story but I genuinely enjoyed it. You could see where it was headed so it wasn't anything grand and some dialogue was a bit cheesy. Aside from that, the voice acting was good and the main cast is just perfect. Gemma my beloved.

Combat
It's Monster Hunter but with fancy new buttons. Focus Strike is a good addition and very satisfying to use, especially on the weapon I used which is Dual Blades. Low Rank monsters were a bit easy, almost too easy but I did play previous entries of Monster Hunter so take that with a grain of salt.

Monsters
New monsters and some classic ones. Can't have a Monster Hunter game without Rathalos after all!
They have done a really good job with the design of the new monsters. I love my lil frog boy and I will do everything to protect him.
Alphas is a nice addition and would love to see more of them in future games.

Gear
No more gender locked armor! Mix and mash as you like! This is a fantastic addition and I will wear my skirt proudly on my male looking character.
Weapons aren't just bones or slabs of iron with monster parts glued onto them. Looking at you MH Worlds.
The armor pieces really do fit the theme of the monsters, approved!

Music
Yes.


Is it worth the price tag of €69.99?
Even with the performance issues I'd say so but pray that your PC is beefy enough that you can run the game.

Do I recommend it?
Again, if you have a beefy PC then yes but if you had an "okay" score in the benchmark I'd wait until they patch the game.
