Breakout Beyond is a fresh spin on a classic. Yes, the game is played horizontally instead of vertically. No, you can't change that. But that's not a problem at all, it's fun to see a a reinterpretation of such a monumental game. The gravity and spin feel great, you can slow down time (lowers your score) or sprint with your paddle if you need it, there's even an unlockable endless mode and local co op.

Visually, the game is a treat and it gets chaotic very quickly with fast moving action and lots of power ups. Breakout Beyond rules!

Keep Driving is a breath of fresh air in a world preoccupied with live service games and constantly growing AAA titles that have hundreds of hours of filler.

What we have here is a focused turn based management RPG where you go on a road trip to a festival. The open world has you running into all sorts of events and encounters, from picking up hitchhikers that can steal your money, to taking a detour in order to see your passing grandma one last time. If you want to put the game in comparative terms, think of Oregon Trail meets FTL, while keeping the difficulty and stress levels perfectly reasonable.

There’s a lot to do, a lot to see, and a lot of decisions to make. But it never feels overwhelming, and it never feels like you’re wasting your time on some random meaningless fetch quests. The world is procedurally generated, but save for some minor repetition here and there, it feels fleshed out and fun to explore.

When you add in the fact that finishing the game’s main quest can be done in 4 or less hours at less than $20 USD, you’ve got a compelling bite sized package by 2025 gaming standards. Of course, if you like the game you’ll naturally spend many more hours in it because there’s tonnes different stories and gameplay systems to experience. I can easily see big fans of the game spending over 20 hours on it.

Keep Driving is really more about the journey than the destination, just like a good road trip in real life.

This game is a blast, I'm pleasantly surprised by how well they translated Metal Slug into a totally different genre. Here's my full video review.

Golden Lap absolutely slaps. It's motorsport management without the fluff and with a heavy focus on race strategy. Races feel more hands on and interactive than other games in the genre. If you want to see how it all unfolds in action, check out my guide.

A fantastic follow up to Frostpunk, but keep in mind this is not a traditional city builder. It's much more of a strategy/4X/grand strategy style of game. There's a deep layer of politics, and the scale is way bigger than the original game. Expect a constantly shifting power dynamic while you struggle to expand New London and thrive!

The actual gameplay is amazing, 100% the best tennis game ever made in that regard. The modes are paper thin though and the custom player progression is slow as hell. It's a totally barebones package, but despite that it's super fun to play. Not being able to play with friends at launch is absolutely wild though, it should be getting patched in around the end of May at least.

You know when you go on a rampage in GTA because you're a maniac? They turned that into a whole unhinged game with roguelike progression. Hell yeah.

Red Alert 2 is literally one of the greatest games ever made. You can also play this online with CnCnet, complete with custom maps, units, etc. Just like back in the day.
