TL:DR: If you are looking for something new in the Adventure game genre. Then, this is the game.

I grew up with point and click adventures... played all the classics. Simon the Sorcerer, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango. Saw the rise through the 2D years and the decline that followed as the market was taken over by FPS. I think the genre is finally coming to itself with these new games (like Life is Strange and Tell Tale games). It is finding a new spirit in the 3D world. One that connects much deeper emotionally than any of the predecessors, and Life is Strange is the best of the new breed so far.

For anyone following the genre, this was a long time coming. Thinking of Grim Fandango, Fahrenheit, or Dreamfall as steps in the way to "Adventure Game" maturity and the Life is Strange as the pinnacle. Each earlier step was a brilliant, yet flawed step to "Adventure Game" as a form of art. Life is Strange brings together a great scenario (Donnie Darko anyone?), relatable characters, and great visual style into a captivating whole.

And on top of it all, it works in Linux flawlessly!
