It was a 100/100 before Larian started patching the game and announcing additional content. It's just so good. The game is worth purchasing solely to support a good developer. Amazing game.

I've been playing this game since 2016, and at the time of this review am nearing 1200 hours. When I first started playing this game, I was amazed by the quality and breadth it had for a free to play game. It has a pretty impressive physics engine, with complex damage models for tons of vehicles. There truly is no other game like it. So if I have 1200 hours in it, and the core concept of the game is so impressive to me - why is this a negative review?

Because of Gaijin. Despite having such a cool and unique product, Gaijin seems devoted to running it into the ground. They constantly have patches that increase the time commitment to unlock new vehicles, that have compounded the difficulty over the year. To play the game as a free to play player is no longer valid for the majority of people. And for those who buy into the game with premium vehicles or a premium account, the rewards for them are being inhibited as well.

Most recently Gaijin changed the algorithm that determines score within a match. They removed score gain from being near enemy players. While this seems inconsequential at first, it actually cripples research/currency gain for a ton of Air Realistic players. Previously, if you were in a tight dogfight with enemies, dodging attacks, draining enemy energy, dodging missiles and putting them into bad situations - you'd be rewarded by this proximity score. You may not always have the opportunity to get your guns on target, but your actions could result in the death of multiple enemies and you'd tack up some score from those actions. Now you get nothing.

I play often at the higher tier of play (10.0-11.0 Air RB), and even with a premium account and multiple high tier premium vehicles, the game's economy has never felt worse. I can no longer in good faith recommend this game to a new player. I'm sure at first they'd be enamored like I was - but at some point they'll hit a plateau with the economy, and be unable to afford to play the vehicles they want without spending money on the game.

Gaijin - please reconsider your actions. This game is so close to being amazing; it's only corrupted by your own greed. If you want this community to last, stop focusing on monetization so much. I've spent money on this game because I LOVED playing it. Not because you frustrated me into making purchases by nerfing the economy into the dirt.

Listen to your community before you don't have one anymore.

Updating this review: It's been about two years since I made this review and things have only gotten worse. They continue to nerf the economy of this game, to the point that even paid players (such as myself) are struggling economically. I could not imagine being F2P and trying to play this game. It is MILKING the playerbase dry. Horrible decision after horrible decision. Gaijin is killing its community. They need to change things now before the game dies.
