I think it is self-explanatory as to why I do not recommend the game by just looking at the other reviews people have posted :)

Early Access Review
I think it is time for me to re-write my review as it's now been a while since the implementation of Easy Anti-Cheat:

Around July 2022, the developers released an update which included the addition of Easy Anti-Cheat into their game. Before said update, the modding community was thriving and adding features people wanted that the developers just didn't care to add. Needless to say, this update gained a lot of backlash as it would take a lot of useful and sometimes even necessary features out of the game as modding would become almost impossible.

Ever since then, the developers have been taking the correct approach and have actually started listening to the community (due to the backlash), adding requested features to the game every few months. I can actually say that VRChat right now is in the best place it has ever been in terms of features and performance and such, even if it is lacking mod support.

However, the main issue the developers sought to solve with the EAC update still exists.
Avatar ripping is still possible as avatar cache is unprotected. Crashing other people's clients is still possible as you don't need mods for that, just a heavy avatar made specifically for crashing. Modded SDK unitypackages are a thing.

While the EAC update did make it harder to mod the game, it is not impossible and any malicious person with enough dedication can eventually circumvent the anti-cheat and cause chaos. It just makes the life of an average Quality-of-Life modder much harder.

The ripping and crashing issue is still a major concern all around the community and it is definitely something the developers need to address sooner or later, especially since people no longer have access to anti-crasher mods after the security update.

The influx of Children on the platform is also somewhat concerning. It is due to VRChat getting funding from Facebook (or "Meta" nowadays) to include VRChat in the Quest Store for their standalone headsets. The problem is all these kids being given a VR headset for Christmas as parents have no idea WHAT you can do or see in VR.

The reason for it being concerning is that many would not consider VRChat a safe place for young minors as there are a lot of NSFW aspects in the game like what avatars people use or how they act on the platform. You won't be constantly exposed to such things but it happens occasionally and can depend on what kind of people you hang around with.

It's also concerning because once Meta finds out about the issue, there's no doubt they're gonna want VRChat to make the game "family friendly" with the threat of cutting their funding and removing it from the Quest store. The NSFW aspects are a part of VRChat though and not the actual problem. NSFW can be helpful for some people in long distance relationships for example which is why I think it shouldn't be removed.

The problem is the amount of Quest Standalone kids. The game needs some sort of age limit and better management of the NSFW aspects and spaces to separate children from said spaces.

Edit: That got added too finally, honestly nowadays I like the direction it is going.

PARENTS:
Please don't buy your child a VR headset thinking it's the same thing as a smartphone. If you decide to buy one anyways, monitor their usage if they're young.

Those issues aside though, the game is great. As you can probably tell, I have spent way too many hours of my life on said platform. It's been 100% worth it though as I've made numerous friends, some of which I've met in real life since then, had lots of fun exploring worlds, partying, you name it! In VR, pretty much anything is possible! Hands down the best VR platform at least when it comes to socializing and well, chatting.

(PS: VRChat pls add native Face Tracking support cuz your OSC still sucks a** thx <3)

The free base game, 100% recommended! Lots of fun and consumes your time like no game addiction before!

The additional DLCs, read below:

Originally,
I've paid 60€ for the base game (when it wasn't free) + Red War campaign. (doesn't exist anymore)
I've paid 20€ for the Curse of Osiris DLC & campaign. (doesn't exist anymore)
I've paid another 20€ for the Warmind DLC + campaign. (doesn't exist anymore)
I've paid 70€ for the Forsaken Annual Pass DLC + campaign when it came out.

Now that all Forsaken content is being moved to the Destiny Content Vault, that is soon to be 170€ worth of content I have paid real money for that I am no longer able to access at all.

I paid 70€ for the Shadowkeep DLC when the move to steam happened but stopped playing as the game got so complicated & overwhelming even for a veteran like me who's been playing this franchise ever since Destiny 1's The Taken King DLC dropped.

Now, as a returning player in order for me to experience all the content from Beyond Light's past seasons that I missed, I'm supposed to be paying 50€ for the Beyond Light Deluxe Edition DLC instead of paying the base price of 20€ for it.
Not only that, for me to continue progressing in this game after finishing said DLC, I need to pay another 40€ for the upcoming Witch Queen DLC.

There's no doubt all this new content will also be eventually moved to the Destiny Content Vault no matter how much money I end up pouring into this game, Shadowkeep being next after Forsaken.

That being said, I seriously don't feel like paying for these "expansions" that supposedly add new content whilst removing an immense amount of old DLC content I've paid hundreds for. All the old story missions, raids, drops, the literal backbones of the franchise just *POOF*. Unaccessible.
You know that raid you and your friends loved playing over and over again? Doesn't exist.
How about the story missions you and your friend used to play through and learn more about the story line of Destiny 2? Gone.

I seriously love this franchise to bits but I hate seeing it in a state like this.

Honestly I would recommend any new players to refrain from buying any of the currently available DLCs for now if you value your money.
If you're an addicted veteran of the franchise like me, go for it. You'll have fun, you'll hate the cost & what you're paying for but you're probably used to burning your money anyways by now...
