When Teyon released Terminator: Resistance, I said "finally, a good Terminator game."

Finally, a good Robocop game.

This game rules. Criminals die spectacularly. Robocop is a tank. There's a gun upgrade mechanic and skills system that make most of the firefights trivial about halfway through the game, and that's fine because you're Robocop. It's a lot of fun.

I'm leaning positive on this review though I'm really caught in the middle. It's fine. It looks great, but it's a playable movie, and it is very slow. Movement slow, plot pace slow. The only place it demands fast action is in every single QTE. I think I failed more than half of them but it didn't seem to matter much.

I don't know. If you know you're going into a playable movie, it's giving you what you want. If you want to play a game, play something else.

If Condemned: Criminal Origins gameplay with Manhunt aesthetics is your thing, get in here. It's great.

I wanted to like this. However, I've encountered so many glaring technical issues that it's hard for me to keep playing, much less recommend.

Most of my issues are control related. This game hates my Keychron keyboard. With my keyboard plugged in, it won't accept Xbox controller input and only some of the KB+M controls work. So I unplug my keyboard before I start the game to use my controller. Except it mixes up the buttons if Steam Input is enabled so I need to remember to turn on my controller, disable Steam Input, and then start the game or else I'll be quitting out again to get to the Steam settings. So after a lot of Google searching and trial and error, I can finally play the game with my controller. No other game does this.

But I just got dumped to desktop after doing nothing more than trying to view my map. Even after I figure out how to make the controls work, it's still going to crash randomly.

EA has said in their last patch notes that they're more or less moving on. I don't expect these issues to ever be fixed. Do not purchase on Steam. Maybe one of the console versions work.

Properly creepy but it is underbaked and takes too long to get started. I can forgive the pacing but I'm going to wait a couple more months before I try it again.

Incredible metroidvania. Every time I thought I was stuck or lost, I'd stumble on some new way to use my tools or find a secret tunnel and then I'm back on track. It's both cute and creepy. I'm just a little blob hatched from an egg.

What an incredible game. It's neither long nor difficult but it's extremely effective at what it is doing. It's going to stick with me for a while.

Here's the best compliment I can give this game: I played the original, on the PS2, in the year 2001, and I think this is a good remake. It suffers a little from being made a bit too big. There's an area two thirds through the original that was not fun at all, and now it's not fun and much longer. But otherwise, it does a good job of updating the game for a new audience.

I've played 2 previous games called Alone in the Dark (3 if we're including The New Nightmare), and this was the best. It's a little bit of a technical mess but I was hooked by the middle of chapter 2. It's got a good mix of simple puzzles with some slightly sloppy action. It's not mindblowing but it's good.
