the game is great and I loved every second of it, but never, never push a gas pedal during pee break; I felt so horrible :(

Short yet fun adventure, which gets quite challenging near the end! Hard mode is really hard, and generators on later stages can be screwed by RNG, but at least ghosts and environmental attacks are all about remembering the patterns.

Had some weird issues with movement on my Steam Deck (which got fixed by remapping the left stick to WASD), but it was fun overall!

One of the most fun competitive shooter experiences in recent years.

Gacha is completely unnecessary (imagine playing for cosmetic skins) and mostly is a fine addition. Dream tokens (the currency used to acquire new agents) can be farmed easily through level progression and by playing with union members. Cool :)

Most of the problems listed below has been fixed with latest update!

I have mixed feelings about this. I am a huge hololive fan and I absolutely love the idea of hololive indie publishing, hololive gacha, and Battle Cats gameplay, and the game felt fun for a couple of hours, but then the problems started snowballing way too fast:

- Yeah, you can't play this game on a controller or have a smooth experience with Steam Deck, which is a big deal for me. I've tried to tune my own controller layout, but it felt too wonky.

- The core gameplay and stages won't change at all; there's almost no change in strategy or resource management no matter which units you play, just in some rare occasions you'll need to add some counters for the colored auras. But there are like 4 or 5 types of units, and they don't differ too much.

- Difficulty spikes. I don't know if that's a balance problem or if there's something wrong with me personally, but they're absolutely ridiculous, and there was almost no way to beat some stages, no matter what you do. Luckily for me, I had 2 different UR characters for single-target and area-target attacks, and sometimes it helped, but most of the time they were too useless in almost every composition I could make with my available units. With that being said, I just had to grind gold to improve my stats because...

- Gacha is too limited and unpredictable. At the end of area 2 and the beginning of area 3, it felt like I simply can't fight with my units no matter how much I invest in them; almost all of them cost too much, and it's really hard to keep them in the fight. So I had to grind more, in hopes that I'll get some random gacha tickets and get the right units. It took me several hours of boring grind of the same stage with the same strategy just to optimize my future build.

- Sadly, there are no good options to farm money, and all options you have are TOO slow. The "PR Management" minigame is too long and unskippable, doesn't do too much. The same is being said about Mikochi runner game, which gives you way fewer coins for much more time than beating any stage. Grinding previous stages is slow too because...

- The whole battle system is slow. It just forces you to have units with different harmonies to boost Voltage and generate motivation faster, and you're screwed until you get the good combo. Well, there's also a trophy system, which is supposed to help you, but...

- Trophies just don't help and mostly rely on random chance. You RANDOMLY get a trophy if you beat a stage, no matter if it was a good run or not; it's just random. You want to have some voltage and motivation boost? Too bad, you've got some bad early gacha with duplicates and don't meet the quota of required units.

- Once I've grinded around 10 hours for some decent cheap units and good UR girls, I finally was able to finish the "story" and see the credits, only to unlock more of the same stages with the same battles.

This game has some really good ideas, but for me, it feels like an early access release, and there's more to do to polish it, and even the pull roster only contains some mascots and talents from Gen 0, Gamers, Gen 3 and Myth (without any hololive ID / holostars representation). Sadly, I can't recommend it for now just because it becomes routine and boring way too fast, but I will look for the future of this game and wish it luck.

Just play it blind...
This game will either not hook you at all or completely consume you for countless hours...
Don't ask how I know...

(To be honest, it's nearly impossible to praise this game without spoiling the fun and why it is amazing. Yes, it's not for everyone. Yes, it can look hard, time consuming or repetitive sometimes, but it is amazing the way it is, and the further you are, the more exciting it is!)
