I enjoyed this game quite a bit. Great art and music, and I love the idea of all of your attacks being spirits you recruited. Some aspects of the game feel a little bare bones, but I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing here. Sometimes simple is good; not every game needs to have complex mechanics. This game isn't groundbreaking by any means, but it definitely scratched that metroidvania itch for me. Really solid game.

A wonderfully crafted metroidvania. Well done 2d animation and an amazing soundtrack that fits perfectly for its immersive world and subtle storytelling. Challenging, but very fair. The combat is simple to understand and the bosses are well designed with no artificial difficulty. Some may find it starts out slow, but the game encourages and rewards exploration with optional upgrades, items, and bosses. The nonlinearity only adds to this. There is no strict set path of progression (go from area A to B, pick up power up then head to C and D, etc), so progression comes naturally as you explore new areas and branch off from there. This game has one of the best interconnected worlds I have seen.

You get an amazing value at 15 dollars. The base game is great as is, and you get 4 additional free content packs which add more bosses, items, and a small bit of additional lore/story. The last content pack "Godmaster" is dedicated to a boss rush that fits nicely into the world of Hollow Knight and it's narrative so it doesn't feel out of placed or tacked onto some side area.

My only real gripe with this game is that one small section of the endgame content from one of the additional content packs is a brutal step up in difficulty. It is not impossible, but it is an outlier with how Hollow Knight handles difficulty. This is, however, not necessary for completing the base game and it is essentially "post game" content. The other 95% of the game is fair in it's difficulty and will provide you with a very generous amount of game time for the price you pay. My first playthrough of the base game took me roughly 40 hours. Your mileage may vary, but the amount of quality game for this price tag makes it a strong recommendation for any fan of action-adventure/metroidvanias.

Amazing remake. Looks great, feels great, plays great. 60 fps helps a ton for precision platforming. Even though Crash's jump physics isn't 1:1 with the originals, the platforming doesn't feel all that much harder in my opinion. Yea, the hitboxes are rounded now so you CAN slip off, but it only ever caused my death maybe 3 times in total. I actually found the bridge levels easier in the remake because of the 60 FPS allowing me to make more precise jumps.

Any diehard Crash fan should get this. The visuals, free dlc levels, and numerous quality of life changes make it the definitive way to play. Anyone that loves platformers and likes a good challenge should strongly consider picking this up.

A true love letter to cartoons of the 1930s. Stunning to look at and very fun to play if you like a challenge. No boss ever feels "cheap" and it feels very rewarding to progress as you notice yourself getting better at the game. Variety of weapons and power ups that are unique and a blast to use when you find that one boss where it's amazing. Some may find that there may be too much visual clutter in some levels, but it is rarely distracting or hard to keep track of. Definitely worth playing if you enjoy a more difficult (but not impossible) game and if you love the feeling you get when you notice how much you have improved over the course of the game.
