This game is a classic, and for the price is worth experiencing (again and again, without external hints) until you get things right. Savor the mystery and the puzzle that is the ship and her people. (A small general hint: try gambling everything you have on Blackjack during the sinking.)

The main issue is that this port is flawed: subtle transitions are missing, dialogue is clipped off, a door leads to the wrong place, random crashes, etc. It's not entirely impossible to play– in fact, speedrunners of the game love this version for the lack of slow transitions– but you may want some fixes to smooth out the experience. Search for "set core affinity to 1" or the "unofficial patch".

(Also, this is a fairly easy speedrun to get into. If you love the game, or want to give speedrunning a try in general, give it a go with TOAT. Just be sure you play the game normally first. ;D)

Ace Combat is definitely more arcade than realistic, but it is silly fun. I bought just the base game on sale for $6, and I am happy for the experience. It is not worth $60-$100 in my opinion: campaign is good but can only do so much with shoot/missile/bomb all these things before it gets shallow. Might be more value in multiplayer, like a modern FPS, but that's not for me personally.

While there's still more to come during this time of early access, what is is here at the start is pretty compelling. Can't wait to see more.

It's fun, it's silly, it's my go-to time waster. Play it.

I love this game. Best gameplay in VR I've encountered (if you can stomach the chaos!).
